Set in a peaceful seven-acre wildflower meadow, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just a few minutes' drive from two fabulous beaches, Hobie offers the finest eco-glamping in a large, stylish safari tent.
Equipped to the highest standard by the owners, who are both product designers by trade, this idyllic retreat boasts high quality sprung mattresses, fresh bed linens, beautiful woollen throws, soft towels, reindeer hides, lanterns, designer dining chairs and a fully stocked inventory. Reconnect with nature and explore the surrounding fields, light up a barbecue or simply relax on the deck and revel in the glorious views - bliss!
Hobie has not one but two bedrooms, as well as a delightful double den bed in the spacious living area, and there's a wood-fired range for cooking and heating - rustle up as little or as much as you want, from a cuppa or fry-up to pasties or a roast, or simply enjoy the warmth it generates. There's also a dining-table with space for all to dine comfortably around it and a sitting-area, the perfect place to relax with a good book.
A wooden annexe at the rear of the tent houses a double hot shower/wet-room and a cloakroom with flushing WC and wash-basin perched on a log - a really lovely design feature. Enamel crockery is on-hand for eating both inside and out, and there's even a storage area - perfect for picnic ingredients and barbecue fodder - with a fridge, kettle and double power socket for electrical essentials. All that, and the kitchen sink!
From the parking-area, it's just a short wheelbarrow walk with your luggage to Hobie's tranquil, blissfully car-fee meadow (shared only with one other safari tent (Woody) and Rusty, a stylish converted shipping container), and there is an on-site honesty-shop with a mix of home-made and local produce and everyday necessities, including eggs and bacon to set you up for breakfast.
There is plenty to do nearby, from surfing (the owners can even arrange lessons for you) and walking (the infamous South West Coast Path is a must) to visiting old fishing villages, such as Cadgwith and Porthleven. A three minute drive will take you to the picturesque Poldhu Cove, with its sandy beach and beachside cafe serving delicious hot chocolates, ice creams and other tempting treats. Or, if you prefer to stay close to home, within the farm's 12 acres of meadows there is something for all ages - you can fly a kite, enjoy a picnic, discover a small wooded copse where there is a rope swing and hammock, collect the abundant herbs, spot species of wild flowers, birds and insects and perhaps, at the end of the day, toast a marshmallow at the communal fire-pit while watching the sun set over the delightful coastal vista.
Hobie has been lovingly created to meet all of your holiday needs whilst enjoying the extraordinary experience of eco-glamping. Barefoot Glamping is the perfect way to re-connect with nature, family and friends, and relish the simple pleasures of life…without letting go of home comforts.
