An extremely quiet rural retreat, where horses rather than cars pass down the narrow lane outside, Lower Cadwin Cottage is tucked away just a mile outside the village of Lanivet – geographically practically in the centre of Cornwall so an ideal base for exploring. Pretty as a picture with roses around the door, a stable-door opens into the sitting-room warmed by a wood-burner, and there is a well-equipped kitchen/diner. Also downstairs is the bathroom, and upstairs are two pretty bedrooms, both with low beams. In front of the cottage the small enclosed garden has a sunny, south-facing seating-area. The Owners, who live next door, have a smallholding and their chickens roam freely, though their other livestock is not close by.
This is such a brilliant location with both coasts within easy reach, as well as all of the delights of Cornwall, right down to the far west – so you can have a bucket and spade day on one of the numerous beaches, a surfing day in Newquay, a cultural day at the Eden Project or the Tate at St Ives, a shopping day in Truro or just a relaxing day in this delightful cottage.
