This delightful cottage, with the slipway yards from the front door (hence the name!), has marvellous views across the Teign estuary from the enclosed waterside patio/garden. This is the perfect spot to completely unwind, lingering over coffee or a glass of wine as you watch the estuary change from hour to hour and tide to tide. Inside, Slipway Cottage is absolutely charming, with a cosy sitting-room, spacious kitchen/diner, cloakroom and, upstairs, two compact but pretty bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom and the other with its own shower and wash-basin. Shaldon, just down the road, is a lovely village with one or two good restaurants, a town beach and a passenger ferry plying back and forth to Teignmouth.
With such a comfortable house in such a stunning location, it will be hard to tear yourself away, but there are great beaches and pretty villages throughout south Devon – so get out there and explore, knowing you can come back to this haven of peace and quiet at the end of each day.
