Crislands Wendy House is in an excellent position for exploring the Jurassic Coast, the antiques shops of Honiton, the Cathedral City of Exeter and the east Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the unspoilt Blackdown Hills. The reverse level accommodation makes the most of the incredible panoramic views over the stunning Yarcombe Valley – the first thing you see when you arrive. This detached home-from-home is very spacious and feels very private too. The dual-aspect open plan first floor sitting/dining-room celebrates the stunning location, and with a cosy wood-burner provides a welcoming atmosphere throughout the year. The cottage stands within the Owner’s beautifully kept gardens (which you are welcome to enjoy) but has its own secluded private patio.
There is an excellent farm shop just a couple of miles away towards Chard – you can treat yourself to a great cooked breakfast there before setting out for a day exploring – and when you return why not try The Belfry, winner of the AA Dinner Award, a special dining experience in the village (you do need to book in advance). The chain of seaside towns and villages along the coast are all well worth a visit – Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Beer and Branscombe are the closest but further afield you can head into Dorset to visit Lyme Regis and the famous fossil collectors beach at Charmouth.
