Beechwood

2466

3.8 miles N of Bodmin / Sleeps 4 + cot

7 Nights from £374 - £860

Nestling above the River Camel in a serene wooded valley, Beechwood is a contemporary, semi-detached single-storey property where peace and quiet are the order of the day. Thoughtfully planned inside, beautiful oak-floors extend into the living-room where a wood-burner, floor to ceiling windows and comfortable sofas enhance the relaxing atmosphere.

The neighbouring Owners offer a warm welcome, but will otherwise completely respect your privacy. Hours can be whiled away on the sunny patio by the pretty ornamental pond, listening to the babbling river below.

The Camel Trail, two minutes down the lane, provides safe off road cycling to Padstow, Bodmin or Wadebridge; or up the hill is the renowned Blisland Inn, overlooking the village green and famous for its traditional ales.

This really is a great base for exploring all the delights that this magical country has to offer. If the Camel Trail doesn't keep the cycling enthusiasts amused there are more trails on offer at Cardinham Woods and the Lanhydrock Estate – where you can also visit the gardens and house, considered by some to be the finest in Cornwall.

There are more gardens to delight at Heligan and Pinsla and how could we not bring the world-famous Eden Project into the mix. Ramblers will love the wild landscape of Bodmin Moor – there's over 80 square miles to discover and with a plethora of welcoming pubs in the moorland villages you will have plenty of options to refuel along the way.

Of course, a trip to Cornwall would not be complete without a trip to the coast, so head north to the fabulous beaches at Polzeath and Daymer bay or south to the trendy sailing resort of Fowey and the historic port of Charlestown.
