Historic Lostwithiel is nearby, with waterside walks, tearooms and an abundance of antiques shops to explore.

There are footpaths galore through wooded valleys and nearby Helman Tor, ideal for walkers and cyclists. Walkers will love this area with the Saints’ Way – an ancient drover’s route which crosses Cornwall from coast to coast – meandering through moors, lanes and woodland from Padstow in the north to Fowey in the south. There are sandy beaches, spectacular clifftop walks and coastal towns and villages all within a few miles, with the National Trusts’ nearby Lanhydrock estate offering an exciting cycle route, wonderful gardens and a magnificent Victorian country house to explore. The World Heritage Site Luxulyan Valley is also close by and the renowned Eden Project is just a half-hour drive away.
