Enjoying wonderful countryside views and a splendid rural seclusion, this charming barn conversion is tucked away on Cardinham Farm, a peaceful smallholding on the outskirts of Praze-an-Beeble village. Pretty, single-storey Sunrise Barn is set apart from the other farm buildings across the courtyard; your only neighbours are the friendly owners and Sunset Barn.
Be sure to make the most of the wonderfully private hot tub, set up a few steps in the sunny enclosed back garden which overlooks the surrounding fields.
The cottage is light and airy yet warm on cooler days thanks to the cosy under-floor heating and warming wood-burner in the spacious open plan living-room, which can be found two steps down from the entrance hall; the generously-sized en suite master bedroom, the second bedroom with 'zip and link' beds and the family bathroom at the other end of the barn allows privacy for all. The well-equipped oak kitchen means it’s easy to rustle up a holiday feast, and there are also several restaurants and dining pubs within an easy drive.
Perfectly positioned to check the weather on either coast before planning the day’s itinerary, the cottage is only a short distance from the spectacular coastal footpaths skirting St Ives Bay, the area’s glorious sandy beaches and the increasingly popular Poldark Mine. The acclaimed National Maritime Museum at Falmouth is within a half hour’s drive and Flambards Theme Park in Helston offers fun for all the family.
The smallholding’s animals include pigs, horses, ponies, goats, chickens and an affectionate farm cat, as well as two very friendly Labradors. The owners have extended their care and attention to guests’ pets, and daily boarding in purpose-built kennels is available at a small cost for those days when your dog can’t accompany you on your adventures. Guests are welcome to explore the fields (please take care around livestock) and to help at feeding times – or for something less strenuous, why not pamper yourself with a beauty treatment or a massage the owner can arrange for you!
A quiet but typically narrow Cornish lane of around half a mile in length leads from Praze-an-Beeble – which offers a popular local pub, a thriving village store and even a fish and chip shop! – down to Cardinham Farm.
