Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hatts Farm is a working farm set in 150 acres on the picturesque Dorset and Wiltshire border.
Dairyman's Cottage is a traditional, semi detached barn conversion that has been lovingly restored with contemporary features. The cottage has a homely feel that welcomes you as soon as you walk through the door, with its beautiful open plan downstairs living area offering the perfect communal space for everyone staying in the property. The living-area is a cosy retreat with comfortable sofas positioned perfectly to surround the open fire where you can sit and enjoy the crackles and pops on cosy evenings. For the chefs among you, the well-equipped kitchen offers you all you could need to prepare and serve a delicious homemade meal with plenty of room for the whole family to sit around the dining table. If you are looking for a night off, take a stroll to the quaint village of Semley where there is a friendly local pub called The Benett Arms serving hearty pub grub, you are on holiday after all! The village also offers a handy village shop just one mile away should you need to stock up on local produce.
Outside is a south-facing terrace where you can sit on outside furniture and enjoy some al fresco dining, or even just sit and take in the sights and sounds of rural life, offering an amazing escape from the stresses of the outside world.
After a day of exploring the wonders of the countryside, upstairs offers everyone the perfect haven for tired eyes. Both the main double bedroom and twin bedroom provide restful spaces with super-comfy mattresses and inviting linen to sink into after a long day. The twin beds can also be made up as a super-king double bed for extra flexibility.
Hatts Farm has so much to offer, there are stunning views from the hilltop vantage point above the cottages and children will delight in the rare breed chickens wandering the farmstead and the lambs in springtime. Through the fields, a short walk from the cottages, you will find yourself able to explore ancient untouched bluebell woods, the perfect spot for a picnic. Also, within a short stroll is the nearby, protected Nature Reserve owned by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. Dairyman's Cottage is located near Shaftesbury, a local market town with quirky independent shops and surrounded by some stunning landscapes that offer the chance to blow away the stresses of your day-to-day life. Should you venture a bit further afield, Longleat isn't far from Hatts Farm where you can go on a safari drive and admire the beautiful exotic wildlife they have on offer. Also, close-by is the New Forest, Bath and Stonehenge. A day trip to the Jurassic Coast is very popular, as is a drive over the border to Somerset where The Newt country estate makes for a delightful day out.
