Situated in the hamlet of Yettington, close to the picturesque village of East Budleigh and only a short drive to the beach at Budleigh Salterton, Sandy Cross Barn is an exceptional four-bedroom home-from-home cottage; extremely well-equipped and comfortable inside, with the added bonus of a sunny patio, a fully enclosed very private garden and a gated driveway for parking.
The ground floor is bright and cheerful and has the flexibility of a kitchen/breakfast-room, and an open plan living/dining-room overlooking the garden. Out-of-season, the living-room has a cosy wood-burner for extra warmth and atmosphere (a fire guard is provided). A separate utility-room and a downstairs shower-room, make this a great holiday home.

If you can tear yourselves away from this most relaxing of holiday homes, a short drive will take you to the unspoilt pebble beach at Budleigh Salterton – a real family favourite that is never too crowded. Between Yettington and Woodbury lies the wide open space of Woodbury Common – acres of heath and woodland to explore on foot or on mountain bikes if you bring them. The views from here are amazing and stretch from the top of the Exe Valley along the Jurassic Coast to the east. Exploring along the coast offers you wide sandy beaches at Exmouth, the Regency town of Sidmouth and the historic fishing villages of Branscombe and Beer. Beyond that but a very easy drive away is Lyme Regis with its famous harbour wall – The Cobb.
Head towards the Roman City of Exeter and you will find the delightful riverside town of Topsham with gorgeous shops, cafes and restaurants – as well as a ferry across the Exe to the lovely walks alongside the Exeter Canal – ending at the much loved Turf Hotel for a lunch with a view! On the way back to Sandy Cross Barn you will have to call in at Darts Farm – voted the UK’s best farm shop and packed with treats to take home for a real feast to celebrate your holiday.
