Redcliffe is a water lover’s paradise, with direct access from the enclosed garden down spiral steps to a private quay. At high tide you can swim or sail from the jetty and a semi-dry mooring is available. Or if you prefer, you can relax in the hot tub on the lower deck (accessed from the ground floor); lit up at night, it is the perfect spot to enjoy the water views whatever the time of day or year. Right on the River Teign, this exceptional house has wonderful views from the first floor balcony, downriver towards Shaldon and upriver towards Dartmoor. The sitting/dining-room is beautifully furnished and opens out onto the balcony, as does the stylish kitchen. There is also a large games-room, a double bedroom with its own private deck, and a cloakroom on the first floor. All opening onto the ground floor deck, the remaining four bedrooms are downstairs, where there is also a fitness area and sauna. With full central heating from an eco-friendly air-sourced system, Redcliffe is warm and welcoming in any season and a fabulous holiday home – you will just have to come and stay here to see just how fabulous for yourself!
If you can bear to tear yourselves away from this lovely house, then we would certainly recommend the nearby riverside village of Shaldon. It has a lovely beach, a foot ferry over to Teignmouth and some excellent pubs and restaurants. Or, if you wish to venture further afield you can explore the South Hams and discover pretty villages of thatched cottages, tree-lined rivers and some glorious sandy coves. On the other hand, given how great this house is, you might just stay put!
