A meandering driveway leads to this detached architect-designed property, one of three set in 11 acres of spectacular private woodland. Trelengor, a short drive from Fowey, the Eden Project and three golf courses, is a haven of tranquility within a beautiful two acre garden bordered by majestic conifers.

The reversed accommodation has four downstairs bedrooms offering flexibility for seven guests, three with glass doors to a sheltered patio and covered fishpond. A wide, open-tread oak staircase leads from the spacious entrance hall to the stunning open plan living-room, which features a central wood-burner and picture windows overlooking the grounds. Glazed doors open out to a balcony, a raised patio and the lovely garden, complete with a landscaped (unfenced) pond.

This part of south Cornwall is a real treat with some gorgeous seaside villages such as Polperro and Mevagissey, magnificent cliff walks and some lovely beaches to explore. As well as the golf lovers amongst you, there is plenty to interest everyone else. For gardeners, the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan, which change from season to season, as well as some renowned National Trust houses and gardens.

If you are venturing further afield then the north Cornish coast, which is quite different, is easily reached in around an hour by car and well worth a day out. If you’re a foodie, why not sample one of the many renowned restaurants in Padstow or back nearer home, buy some fresh fish on the quay at Looe? This is a particularly special house in a particularly lovely setting.
