Facing out over lawns and mature woodland, Beachcomber Cottage is part of a small terrace of holiday cottages found in this peaceful location, close to the Leisure Centre, tennis courts and children's play area on the private Maenporth Estate. The cottage has reverse accommodation with bedrooms, family bathroom and shower-room on the ground floor entry level and parking right outside. Downstairs, the lower ground floor has an open plan living-room with a well-equipped kitchen area and floor length windows looking into the conservatory/dining-room, allowing light to flood in. There is a private patio, perfect for outdoor meals, and sandy Maenporth cove with its sheltered beach is a short stroll down the hill, safe for swimming and with rock pools to explore at low tide.
The sandy beach at Maenporth cove is ideal for families and Beachcomber Cottage is one of the impeccably maintained modern holiday cottages set on the hill above, spread throughout 29 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. The indoor Leisure Centre is centrally-located, open all year except Christmas Day. With a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, table-tennis and pool tables, all free for guests to use, this is a wonderful facility to have right on hand. There is also a communal barbecue-area, two all-weather tennis courts and a children's play-area. The Leisure Centre can arrange daily delivery of newspapers and breakfast supplies, and carries a small range of frozen meals, ice creams and food gifts, all locally sourced (just ask at reception). The beach is a short stroll down the hill, great for paddling, swimming and kayaking and with rock pools to explore at low tide. The cottages at Maenporth offer accommodation of varying sizes, each having a different outlook over the grounds. Wildlife is plentiful with birds, squirrels and occasionally deer attracted by the landscaped grounds and woodland. Set just outside the thriving maritime town of Falmouth there are coastal footpaths and tree-lined creeks nearby and sailing, canoeing and diving lessons available locally. You can walk along the cliffs from Maenporth past sandy beaches at Swanpool and Gyllyngvase and on into historic Falmouth, where there is plenty to explore. There are renowned gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan on the banks of the Helford River, and the north coast surfing beaches are only a 45 minute drive away. Boats and dinghies are welcome on site but commercial and camper vans are regretfully not permitted.
