In an unspoilt valley in the east Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Honiton, this tranquil dog friendly cottage is a short drive from the stunning beaches along the Jurassic coastline. Little Leywood is full of character with beams and wooden floors. The living-room has an inglenook fireplace with wood-burner and the whole cottage has a friendly, home-from-home feel. There is a Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime so you can are well catered for, in case of any rainy days.
Upstairs the spacious main bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, and the smaller bedroom has comfortable, L-shaped bunk-beds. There is a south-facing, fully enclosed terrace garden with a built-in barbecue. A special option here is a choice of fabulous gourmet home-cooked meals from the neighbouring owners - a selection of menus await you in the cottage and feedback from guests has had our mouths watering. Alternatively, pretty Stockland village, a short distance away, has a wonderful community-run pub, The Kings Arms. Enjoy some local produce and experience a real local welcome.
This is a great base to set off to explore the seaside towns and fishing villages along the coast, Little Leywood is a 20 minute drive from the World Heritage Jurassic coastline where you can visit Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Beer and Lyme Regis to name just a few.
If you want to spend a day without getting in the car there are plenty of lovely woodland walks on the doorstep to enjoy with your dog. There is something else very unique here too - the owners rescue and rehabilitate birds of prey that visitors are welcome to meet.
This area has a rich association for food lovers and so as well as taking up the offer of a bespoke home dining experience at the cottage, you can head off towards the coast - with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ just the other side of Axminster and the Mark Hix Oyster and Fish House at Lyme Regis just over the Dorset border - both offer fine dining as well as some great cookery courses.

The dining-table is in the corner of this room - there is plenty of space to pull it out if you wish.
