TwinJust a few minutes' drive from the renowned surfing beaches of Porthtowan and Perranporth, Honeysuckle Cottage is a perfect base for exploring this dramatically beautiful part of Cornwall. Hidden down a quarter mile long unmade farm track, this delightful detached cottage has its own large enclosed side garden and a sheltered front deck, both with lovely countryside views. With a trampoline, an area for ball games and hide and seek, a gorgeous little hut for barbecue nights (can be hired, fee payable directly to the owners on site) and a viewing platform overlooking the endless sky and rural views with a hot toddy, Honeysuckle Cottage is a great choice for making many family holiday memories.
The owner's home is nearby and children and guests of all ages will enjoy meeting the owner's chickens and eating the free-range eggs the owner kindly provides.
Furnished in a fresh, contemporary style, the accommodation is all on the ground floor so is ideal for small children and those less mobile. A lovely wood-burner is the focal point of the welcoming beamed open plan living-room and with the kitchen and dining-area off to the side, makes for a very sociable space for chats, games or just chilling.
There is a stylish main double bedroom, a pretty twin-room and both a bathroom for long, leisurely soaks and a shower-room for a reviving drench at the start of the day.
Portreath nearby, is a typical small seaside town and has a gorgeous sandy beach for building sandcastles, wave jumping, and rock pooling. There are a couple of pubs, a beach café for coffees and ice creams or don your walking boots and stroll the coast path and take in the amazing views out to sea.
St Agnes is further along the coast and hosts a small collection of independent shops, delis and eateries within the quaint village. The city of Truro with its commanding gothic revival cathedral is well worth a visit. Take in the fabulous museum, visit the weekly farmers market or explore the many shops and restaurants - go on, treat yourselves.
Other holiday suggestions include a day trip to St Ives for the galleries and superb beaches, the maritime town of Falmouth for boat trips and Pendennis Castle or perhaps you fancy the drive to the Eden Project for the giant biomes, built on barren land, formerly an old clay mine. Experience the beauty of the Rainforest in one biome or the Mediterranean Biome for the olive trees and cacti.
However you chose to spend your well-earned break, you won't be short of things to do and Honeysuckle Cottage is a delightful property to retreat to at the end of a busy day.
