The property is really charming. It has all mod cons and is scrupulously clean without dimming the period feel to the place. We were a little bit worried about the parking situation, but actually it was no bother at all, and sufficiently cheap, about £20 for the week. The location is perfect. Pituresque Lewes has its own historical attractions, and plenty of good shops, bars and restaurants. You can also start some walks or cycles on the Downs from there. We were a little worried that the property doesn't have a garden, but it wasn't necessary because of the availability of parks and beer gardens nearby. We enjoyed Sea Shanty night at the King's Head, a really chilled pub nearby. The Swan Inn is just as close by, with an even nicer beer garden. There are plenty of attractions to drive to around the area, or else the train station is really close to the property, a 10 to 15 minute walk. You can get fresh pastries and bread from across the lane at the Anne of Cleves House cafe on certain days of the week, which was convenient and luxurious. They also sell delicious South Downs butter and the best homemade jam in the world. I would definitely recommend this property to hire. ...
