Stable Cottage

We were so delighted with the accommodation at Stable cottage, it went far beyond our expectations - we arrived on 23rd Dec and there was a lovely Christmas tree, decorations and homemade mince pies & cream. Our hosts went above and beyond with the addition of toiletries and treats. The furniture, beds linens were of high quality and was all the kitchen equipment. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and even cooked Christmas dinner for 8 at the property. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog and easy access to walks. Couldn’t fault our stay and would like to visit in the summer months when we could explore the hills of neighbouring Dartmoor....

We were recommended to this cottage by a relative who had stayed there and it did not disappoint. A little gem of a location and the cottage is well equipped for all seasons.

Excellent holiday accommodation. Very clean and comfortable. Great location. Owner friendly and welcoming. Lovely afternoon tea provided and basic cleaning equipment. Recommend following directions to cottage provided.

The cleanliness and comfort of this cottage was lovely, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised to find a cream tea, with homemade scones (still warm, the best we've had!), and homemade blackcurrant and sloe gin jam, waiting for us plus a lovely card from the owners. Parking outside was very easy and the little garden is very private. We were encouraged to make use of the owners beautiful garden which was lovely. It was nice to use the BBQ too and all of the utensils were very good. The equipment was all in excellent condition and modern. The Wi-Fi was good and we were able to stream very easily on the large smart tv. An added bonus for us, being sports fans, was the addition of Sky Sports which was fantastic. Also, having a lovely dog walk on our doorstep was a bonus. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in while on holiday. This is a great location if you wish to explore Devon and have a nice relaxing base to return to at the end of the day. Please be aware that there are lots of single vehicle lanes to negotiate in the car, but we soon got used to this. We would definitely return to this cottage in the future. Days out we would recommend, Castle Drogo walk, lots of circular walks around the cost such as Beesands to Hallsands and Noss Mayo and we also did the walk to Soar Cove from Bolberry Downs which was lovely and all of the beaches are dog friendly all year round....

Stable Cottage is the perfect location for exploring Dartmoor and South Devon. The cottage itself is set in a very peaceful, countryside location. It's so very well equipped, comfortable and cosy and a homemade cream tea on arrival was delightful. Our stay at Stable Cottage was wonderful. Would highly recommend....
