Steep stairs. It’s a pity that the village shop and pub are now closed but excellent supermarkets are to be found in Minehead.

Very comfortable stay in wonderful cottage in very peaceful location with all the amenities we required

We were concerned having read a previous guest review that the cottage might not be as clean and tidy as we would expect, but everything was as we hoped . The location of the cottage is great for visiting many of the attractions of Exmoor. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 small children and we found plenty to keep everyone happy, visiting Dunster ( a lovely walk up the lane and through the fields), the West Somerset Railway, Minehead, Watchet, Dulverton,Wimbleball Lake and Lynmouth. The youngsters enjoyed horse riding and canoeing. Minehead is very convenient for food shopping if you don’t plan to eat out ,with 3 supermarkets. Having 3 bathrooms was ideal for our mixed generational family group and the cottage was warm and comfortable . The kitchen is well equipped and the large dining table good for games etc . The parking is a little tight but we managed to get 2 large cars in and out without too much trouble . We intend to visit again in the future as we love the area, especially the opportunities for walking . The hill and coastal views are quite breathtaking ....

Unfortunately we couldn’t recommend this cottage as it’s currently run. We arrived to find it dirty, a bathroom not cleaned, dirty towels left, floors covered in hair and dirt. Fire not cleaned out, food left and dirty cupboards. Nothing had been set up for our stay - no tea towels, no bin bags, no dishwasher tabs, just one filthy oven glove. We also found beds pretty uncomfortable, though bathrooms (if cleaned) would be lovely. The cottage could be great, it’s very stylish and quiet. But it needs some real attention to how it is run for its guests. ...

We were sorry to hear your comments on the cleanliness as this is not typical for the housekeeper at this property and not what the property owner or we would expect for guests. We can only apologise for any areas that had been missed and please rest assured that this was followed up with the housekeeper. Thank you for your comments. Lucy, Customer Support...
