A really lovely accommodation , with everything you need for a holiday away . The host and hostess were excellent couldn’t have done anymore . Would highly recommend..

We had 9 days at Lanthorns Retreat 15th -24th September 2021 & the weather was amazing. It is a cosy, chalet-style individual 'cottage' on its own with plenty of natural light, in a secluded part of the owners' very large garden & has a private patio with BBQ & 2 very comfortable chairs with cushions. We had breakfast outside every morning . Some days you have the added interest of action to watch from Dunkeswell Airfield in the form of parachutists jumping from aircraft & the thrilling wing walkers ! If you want peace & the feeling of being away from it all with delightful hosts on site , if you need them, then this is for you. Both Sally & Lawrence were kindness itself , very helpful & knowledgeable about local walks & the nearest shop etc. The chalet is well equipped & towels are changed on request. The bathroom is spacious with useful surfaces around the sink unit & drawers below. The walk- in shower is excellent with constant hot water. In fact there is plenty of space for storage throughout with bedside cupboards with drawers & a good sized wardrobe with plenty of hangers! Everywhere is clean & fresh. We loved it there & would highly recommend its comfort & above all, its seclusion. We shall return !

What a wonderful find, a special little cabin in a beautiful location. Our hosts Sally and Laurence were very welcoming and friendly. Sally couldn’t do enough for us, and provided us with home made cream sponge, which was delicious, fresh eggs and milk on arrival. Teabags and coffee were also supplied. All in all a perfect “retreat” and we hope to return some time. Thank you Sally and Laurence.
