This is a great place to stay, it’s a perfect piece of quintessential English idyl set in a beautiful valley. The cottage caters for everything it’s cosy and luxurious with lovely white fluffy towels and soft bedding. The kitchen has everything you need including complimentary bread, Dorest butter, eggs, milk and a homemade cake. The gardens surrounding the cottage are like being in National trust grounds, perfect to wander round and the pool is heated and a great place to chill out after a day sightseeing. The icing on the cake is you’re allowed to help ourselves to any of the fruit and vegetables, so we’ve enjoyed fresh runners beans and apple, pear and raspberries compote, with our Sunday roast. We’ll definitely come back. Nigel and Adele have made sure that nothing is missing to make this a perfect place to stay.

Very pretty cottage, beautifully furnished in lovely grounds, in a very quiet location.

From the moment you arrive at Gamekeepers Cottage you know that you are in for a treat. The approach down the driveway with the owners beautiful thatched cottage at its head, opens out to the wonderful haven of Dominey's Yard and the delightful, select row of converted holiday cottages. The cottage and owners are very welcoming and you are made to feel immediately "at home". The cottage is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. On venturing outside via the private patio to the gardens beyond, you could be forgiven for believing that you have been transported into gardens belonging to the National Trust, they are so beautiful and well tended. The heated swimming pool is in the most beautiful setting and a real delight to swim in. If you can tear yourself away from this wonderful holiday home, you will find the surrounding countryside beautiful and many places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed walking in the local area and cycling the off road North Dorset Trailway between Sturminster Newton and Spetisbury only a 30 minute drive away. It is certainly a cottage we hope to return to.

A fabulous cottage with beautiful decor and everything you could need during your holiday. The pool and play area were a massive hit with the kids. Owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the village location was very peaceful. Would definitely return!

You can add any of my comments as the whole experience from arriving, to meeting the hosts, exploring the grounds and visiting the local areas like Weymouth, Poole and Sandbanks to seeing museum's and castles a wonderful, relaxing and restful break. I would recommend Game Keepers Cottage to anyone. To be honest I found the description of the cottage and service provided were undersold. The small touches were fantastic, Home made cake on arrival, bread, milk, butter, eggs, tea, coffee, washing up products, tea towels etc. all amazing. The grounds were wonderful, the pool brilliant and hosts enchanting. Such a beautiful cottage. Everything about the Game Keepers cottage and the location were perfect!

A lovely cottage that exceeded our expectations - owners very friendly and meet you upon arrival. Facilties very good - childrens play area, gardens and heated pool. You do need trasport as limited attractions close by but well situated for coast (Weymouth 15 miles, Poole 30 miles )and New Forest (about 50 miles). Highly recommended for a quiet break in lovely surroundings.

Gamekeepers Cottage proved to be a really special find. The cottage was beautifully crafted and the secluded location was a well needed change of scenery. The hosts warm and welcoming with nothing being too much trouble made our break a memorable one for years to come. Ideally located for a numbers of days out including Sherborne, Taunton, Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Yeovil and Dorchester. Jacqui and Bryan, Buckinghamshire
