Situated in the centre of Lydford, which is a small busy working village. It is on the 118 bus route Oakehampton to Tavistock, both worth visiting especially the latter which is a UNESCO site. Excellent walks for all abilities straight from the door. The Castle Inn is worth mentioning, busy most nights and excellent atmosphere. Beer is on draught and an excellent cellar man (according to my companion).

Rose cottage is a beautiful oldy worldy cottage set in a beautiful friendly village. Loved every minute of staying here and I'd highly recommend. It cosy homely and I wanted to stay. Nicest cottage we've stayed in. Bathroom on the small size but wasnt a problem. Went with the quirkiness of the cottage. Everything you need. Well equipt and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. Would definitely stay again. Local pub was Brill too. Great food friendly locals. Perfect.

I found Rose cottage to be a very characterful cottage. Clean, comfortable and cosy, yes the bathroom is quite small but there's a big shower (big enough for my 6'4" frame!). Nice lounge with big sofas to sprawl out on, a woodburner, fast wifi and an alexa to keep you company! Location is great, Lydford is an attractive, friendly village. Dartmoor is pretty much on the doorstep, it's a 20-30min walk via Silver Lane behind the cottage although be careful crossing the a386! Lots of attractions within an hours drive. Many thanks for the stay, Andy

It is a beautiful, quaint cottage in the heart of a very pretty village. Fantastic local pub, easily accessible to stunning walks on Dartmoor, friendly neighbours. We really enjoyed our 3 days.

Lydford is a delightful village and well placed for trips to the north and south coasts, as well as walks on Dartmoor.

This was one of the nicest cottages I have had the pleasure of staying in.

The Location was excellent - access to the Granite Way nearby is great for Dog Walks in Wet Weather as it's hard surfaced. The Local Pub 300 yards away was excellent and very Dog Friendly.

We had a superb stay at Rose cottage. It is extremely well equipped, and charming, and on arrival, there was a very thoughtful welcome package. The village has a wonderful pub, serving delicious food. All in all, a wonderful stay, would definitely go again!
