Old Sandpitts Cottage is a lovely, clean, bright and welcoming place to spend time. We felt at home and able to enjoy our beak in great surroundings.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely rural location.

Another lovely cottage which we enjoyed very much. The owner was very helpful, the washing machine wasn't working and he called on us straight away to explain and say when it would be repaired. The garden was peaceful and lots of wildlife too. We explored Dorset and found some lovely gardens, Burrows Farm being a particular favourite.

We have regularly holidayed in cottages in UK and France. Sandpitts Cottage is as good as it gets, exceptional property in a beautiful, quiet location. Narrow lanes can be a problem when confronted by a large tractor but everyone is really helpful and understanding.

Ideal cottage in an ideal location. Comfortable and well maintained, perfect for a couple or small family. Beautifully surrounded by lovely views and total privacy. Very kind touches with fresh flowers, wine, milk and a cake. We were lucky enough to enjoy good weather and the garden was perfect to catch some sun and enjoy alfresco dining - so peaceful. The West Bay cliffs and Jurassic coastline are just a few miles away with many other stunning locations within easy distance. We loved our stay here and would definitely like to return in the future.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in this lovely and peaceful thatched cottage. Everything was perfect for us, and we would highly recommend to future guests.

Beautiful cottage and lovely kitchen and shower. Lovely property to come back to after a days exploring. Very peaceful and relaxing. Within easy reach of the coastal roads and scenery, about 20 minutes by car

The website is easy to use and updates all the way up to holiday making it a stress free holidaying experience.

The thatched cottage was up a private leafy lane and a welcome treat was kindly provided. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Logs were provided, which came in useful for the cold nights.

Excellent location for visiting and exploring nearby towns and Villages. The property is very quiet and relaxing. It's lovely to see and hear the wildlife, especially Owls. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, we will certainly like to come back and stay again.

Beautiful thatched cottage and so peaceful yet close enough to drive to the coast and other places of interest. It would be loveley to sit out in the evening during the summer and listen to the ducks and other birds. Unfortuntately, it was a bit too cold and wet whilst we were there. The cottage itself is maintained to a very high standard and the decor is lovely. The shower is amazing. All in all a lovely place to have a holiday. Would highly recommend .

We thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful, quiet week at the cottage - the fact that the sun shone every day also helped with the garden being in sun most of the day. Plenty of lovely places to visit such as Lyme Regis, West Bay, Mapperton Gardens and the walk upto Golden Cap - all within a few miles of the cottages. The picturesque surrounding countryside is also something that will live in the memory. Our first visit to the area but it will not be our last.

Lovely cottage very clean and quite nice for romantic getaway not to far for some good days out.We enjoyed our stay would go again.

This is an amazing cottage! The location is very rural and peaceful. Loved sitting in the garden listening to the ducks next door and the sheep in the field. The house is furnished to a high standard and the ‘disco shower’ amused the children! A beautiful cottage so happy we found it for our summer holiday.

Cottage excellent, high standard. Twenty minutes walk to local pub. Reasonably situated for Bridport, Weymouth and a few National Trust places. Our only small issue with this cottage is the track leading to the cottage is steep at the beginning, not suitable for low vehicles, and when you leave the track to come out on the main road you need to be extremely careful because your vision is totally impaired by hedges etc.

Lovely cottage, the owner has been very thoughtful with equipment he has there. You do need a car to travel out to places as roads very narrow no paths.

It was a very cosy clean cottage, lovely and quiet.

If you're looking for a peaceful tranquil break then this is the place.

It’s our 2nd visit to this cottage, which is so peaceful, it’s so lovely to wake up to the birds singing in the morning. It’s one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Dorset is such a beautiful county. We enjoyed all our walks including. West Bay to Burton Bradstock, Charmouth to Golden Cap, Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door. The Symondsbury Estate is a lovely place to visit & the walk up Colmers Hill. Also Forde abbey House & gardens which is only 5 miles away. A brilliant holiday & will definitely book again.

A lovely clean and well laid out cottage. Ideally located for trips to the coast

We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!!

A really first class accommodation - loved our stay.

A very comfortable cottage, extremely well equipped in a good location. I would thoroughly recommend it as a great holiday rental.

Lovely cottage to stay in for a welcome break during this year. Was lovely to arrive to a welcome pack much needed after a long journey. A very relaxing area and cottage in a lovely area lots of local areas to explore and experience. We had a brilliant week here and hope to visit again soon.

We had a wonderful relaxing break in Old Sandpitts cottage with lovely, friendly and helpful owners. The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed and in a quiet location with a great local pub and within easy driving distance of the coast. Couldn't fault it and would definitely recommend. Thank you.x

We had a wonderful stay in July in this cottage and were so lucky with the weather that week. Everything in the cottage was of high quality and standard and the layout and gardens were beautiful. It had everything we needed and more. The extras left by the owners were a wonderful touch and made us feel very welcome. We explored lots of beaches and nearby towns, all in good driving distance and would love to come back. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

A fabulous peaceful and extremely comfortable cottage. A small freezer is an essential addition to an otherwise excellent cottage.

A tranquil, clean and very well equipped property with parking immediately outside the front door. Everything in the property was new, from the leather sofa to the teaspoons!

It appears the manor including the cottage are up for sale this may effect our decision to return as the current owners were great allowing us to walk around their gardens new owners may not allow such an open approach which would be a great shame.

An excellent holiday cottage in a very peaceful location and with excellent facilities.

Very clean property in a lovely setting with all the equipment you could need. Loved the extra touches such as scones, jam and cream plus wine on arrival. Fresh flowers in vase. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided. We settled in immediately. Thank you.

Lovely quiet setting and very private. Nice furnishings and the bed is very comfortable.

Lovely cream tea awaiting on our arrival - much appreciated.

The heating lets the cottage down. In the "Overall value for money" section we would have given "Very good" if the heating had been better.

Thanks so much for sharing your review - we're glad the cream tea went down well! We're sorry that you felt the heating wasn't quite what you were hoping for - there is also a lovely big wood-burner to help guests feel cosy on those chillier nights, but we will pass your thoughts to the owner. Old Sandpitts Cottage was the most beautiful cottage we have ever stayed in. We arrived on 22nd December and the owner had very thoughtfully put up a lovely garland, with lights, over the fireplace and also a decorated Christmas tree in the corner of the room. Talk about walking into instant Christmas! Thank you, Mrs May.

The kitchen is wonderful, with every appliance one could possibly need and the all-singing, all-dancing shower is an amazing experience!

The cottage was warm and cosy and we had the most relaxing time. Having its own long driveway really makes you feel you are totally isolated and away from the rest of the world.

Lastly, a big Thank You to Les for helping us out with a couple of things. You’re a star!

We shall definitely return. Thank you. Kate & Gerry Elston, Bradford on Avon

The kitchen was really well equipped. The cottage was in a superb location and felt incredibly private. I’m not sure how many people can stay at a rental with its own private driveway. We would love to return again.

Beautiful cottage, immaculately clean, fabulous crazy shower! everything you need to make a comfortable stay but a freezer of some sort is really needed . As was advertised on site with a freezer. Although I was informed of this, it was a bit late in the day to be told as was due to go within a few weeks . It would have been something I would have considered not booking the property because of this . A freezer even a small compartment in a fridge I would say is a must on a self catering holiday . Mattress in the main bedroom is extremely hard ! I admit I’m not a good sleeper away from home but even my husband who can sleep any where found it uncomfortable . Had to take the quilt off the other bed and sleep on that which did solve the problem . Overall lovely place in beautiful grounds . Lovely and peaceful exactly what we wanted

Thanks so much for taking the time to review Old Sandpitts Cottage. We're sorry that you were disappointed with the mattress in the main bedroom - we do find that mattress comfort can be a very individual preference and it can be difficult to find something that ticks the boxes for everyone, but we'll certainly pass on your feedback to the owner for their consideration as well as your suggestion of providing a freezer. We're so pleased that you enjoyed you stay overall and hope to welcome you back soon. Tressa, Customer Support

Beautiful cottage, very quiet location. The all singing all dancing shower was amazing, kitchen well equipped and lig fore was very cosy. Couldn’t fault anything! The pub within walking distance served excellent food too. Definitely planning another stay here next year

Old Sandpitts Cottage is a beautiful cottage set in beautiful grounds. Fully equipped even down to salt & pepper! Everything thought of and all to hand. The furniture and bed is comfortable and the whole place spotless. A wonderful base to explore Somerset, Devon & Dorset! We had the most wonderful break after a long spell without a holiday, just what we needed.

If you're after peace, quiet and comfortable seclusion, this one has to be on your list.

A lovely relaxing week in beautiful West Dorset, this cottage was a peaceful and comfortable base for my young family.
