This is an ideal holiday cottage - very clean and well-equipped. Owners lived nearby but were exceptionally helpful when required and mostly would not have known they were there. Two delightful, sociable peacocks visited to check us out quite often and even did us the honour of snoozing on our patio just outside the window! Would happily stay there again.

Immaculate condition. Very comfortable. Quiet location.

Spacious ,comfortable well equipped cottage situated nearby supermarkets.

Excellent property which was spotless. Excellent location and lovely welcoming host. The best of many holiday properties we have rented.

Extremely comfortable spacious house in lovely area for visits to Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar Gorge and but also did several local walks from the house. We all enjoyed seeing the farm animals including peacocks, peahens and quail just outside our windows. Very helpful owners.

Superb view over the Somerset vista and amazing dark skies views.

Easily accessible from the M5. We loved our stay. Direct access to Wells, Glastonbury, Frome and Bath. The Cowstall is very quiet and peaceful and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Many thanks to the owners who came and checked we had settled in ok. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Really great views and quiet retreat

This is a beautiful and comfortable barn conversion in a quiet location. We particularly liked the peacocks, guinea fowl and chickens who roamed freely, especially the peacocks who came and peered through the windows several times a day! The owners were friendly and available, but not intrusive. Well located for visiting Shepton Mallet, Wells and Bath. Highly recommended.

Just a very comfortable cottage in a beautiful location.

Such a beautiful clean property in the perfect location. We had a fantastic week away. We highly recommend staying at this property.

The best of experiences

A lovely cottage, very handy location. All mod cons provided and lovely and quiet. Would recommend.

We had such a lovely holiday at The Cowstall last year that we returned for a second time and it was just as lovely. The accommodation is spacious, light, comfortable and well equipped. Loved seeing the peahens, peacock and chickens every day and all the other farm animals. If you’re looking for a good base to enjoy the beautiful Somerset countryside you couldn’t get better than The Cowstall!

We enjoyed our week. Comfortable and a good location, plenty to go and see.

From many years experience in self-catering, this was outstanding. We had a warm welcome from Hilary who was most helpful. The view out over the farmyard, fields and fowl to the distant hills was peaceful and relaxing. In a word, memorable.

We had a great time at the Cowstall. The barn was perfect and was very homely. A great base to explore Somerset. The kids had a blast and they loved walking down the path and seeing the cows, goat and horse everyday.

Loved being able to fully open all the doors and let the countryside in.

Susie was excellent in recommending places to visit and ensuring our stay was the best possible. Would recommend and love to stay again.

The Cowstall is a comfortable and very well-equipped cottage set in quiet countryside with lovely views. Received a warm welcome from the owners (suitably socially distanced!) who were keen to ensure that we had everything we needed. Plenty of varied attractions within easy reach. A very relaxing holiday.
