The Cider House
4381 is no longer with usIf you were looking for cottages like The Cider House, how about trying these:
Set in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural beauty with wonderful views sweeping out across open countryside down towards the River Tiddy, the clifftop walks, sheltered coves and beaches, and fishing villages and towns of the Cornish south coast are all close by.
Spend days relaxing on the wonderful decked balcony that takes full advantage of the view, wandering down the path enjoy the tranquil setting of your own private garden with another seating area and the added bonus of a fire-pit, why not toast some marshmallows or simply stay warm whilst stargazing. The pond is fenced off but also offers the perfect spot to enjoy a lazy summer's day picnic at the water's edge or alternatively why not pop into the local village pub (recommended by Rick Stein no less) for a great selection of seafood and local ale.
Inside the fresh and bright interiors complement the character and charm of the building. The small but perfectly formed cottage-style kitchen comes complete with a dual fuel cooker and has steps leading down to the sitting/dining-room. The large windows ensure you soak in that view, whatever the weather, and the patio door takes you out to the elevated decking-area to give you a bird's eye view of the surrounding countryside and provides the perfect spot to watch the sun set each evening. Also on the ground floor, next to the family shower-room, is the main bedroom - a wonderful room with high ceilings and a sitting-area where you can curl up in the comfy armchair and enjoy a good holiday read. The twin bedroom is on the first floor with a halfmoon window that frames more of those wonderful views.
Located next to the owners' home they, along with their two friendly dogs, will assure you a warm welcome and provide any help and advice you may need and then leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday in south east Cornwall. They have over 21 acres of woodland and pastures (please take care in fields with livestock) for you to enjoy which leads down to the river where the 'quay' area is an idyllic spot for a family picnic or to spot the abundance wildlife and birds.
