Fabulous

Great location and we'll laid out for a small family. Great to have an outside space to eat, dry wetsuits etc and store equipment. It could do with a refresh of equipment as some of it is a bit tired. A warning this is a cottage with very low door frames across the building. If you are over 5'8" be prepared to bang your head on a regular basis.

A gorgeous cottage, plenty of space, and amazing location with brilliant views.

Gorgeous cottage. The views are amazing front and back. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. Lovely welcome pack, tea, coffee and biscuits. There was hand soap in bathroom and kitchen, very thoughtful. Plenty of wardrobe space, and loads of drawer space too. Large bedroom and a really good shower over the bath. Very peaceful and relaxing cottage.

Lovely period cottage in perfect location in charming and friendly fishing village. Has harbour view from front and sea view from back garden. Short walk to the village pub. Thoroughly recommended.

Our second stay at this delightful little cottage. Very cosy and comfy and within short, walking distance of pub, shop, beach and quayside. is clean, tidy and well kitted out whilst retaining a cute and old-fashioned feel.

A beautiful location

For us the star definitely the garden. The cottage is a little tight on space and storage in places. Weather mixed but we managed to sit out most mornings, walking in the afternoons. The Sculpture Park so peaceful, well worth a visit. A good walk to Roskillys, we loved the pizza and dirty fries. Takeaway fish and chips well cooked, very generous portions. The Paris Hotel ok, we booked as it does get busy on certain nights. We were lucky and managed to park close by all week. A good break in a wonderful location.

Smugglers Rest is an amazing, interesting cottage. The bedroom was large, and had plenty of wardrobe space, and hangers, bed was really comfortable. Lovely hot shower and a bath too. Water was always piping hot. Lounge had 2 comfortable settees, and a wood burner, which we didn’t need to use. Kitchen/dinner had a lovely big table and chairs, washing machine was a bonus too. It has every utensil you would ever need. Brilliantly equipped. The view from all the windows were amazing, and a fabulous front sitting area outside perfect for morning coffee. A back garden too! With a washing line, bench and table and more amazing views over another bay. This cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

Smugglers rest was very clean upon arrival. Lovely cottage with sea views. We've been several times before and will come again.

Beautiful, well located cottage. Would love to return!

I had a wonderful stay at Smugglers Rest, fantastic location - perfect for a week of walking and swimming. The plumbing emergency mid-stay was dealt with very efficiently by Jenny (housekeeper) and Sarah (customer services) whilst I was out for the day and it was all sorted before I got back. The cottage is very comfortable with lovely views to the front and from the back. I got very lucky with a week of mostly amazing weather, so I took full advantage of the easily accessible coast path walking - lots to do and see in the area. The main bedroom was at times very cold - there is quite a large gap between the 2 window panes (even when fully closed) so on the windy days the wind whistled straight in - this could easily be addressed with some draught excluder, and obviously wouldn't be such an issue at a warmer time of year. The cottage is really well located amongst the hustle and bustle of the village (the village shop is fantastic!), whilst having the advantage of the garden opening directly onto the headland behind - lots of benches which are a perfect location for taking a book and a coffee!

This is our 3 rd stay at Smugglers Rest and we just love it. The cottage is so tastefully done and so comfortable, clean and well equipped. We love the Crows Nest at the front and the lovely garden at the back. The location is just perfect and lovely looking out the windows over the harbour. We enjoy sitting on the harbour wall or on the seats near Archie's Loft and just watching the goings on. Particularly like walk to the Sculpture Park and just sitting there with our flask of coffee. Booked for another 2 weeks next May.

The cottage is in a great location situated very close to the harbour, beach, shops, cafe, restaurant and pub.

This is the cosiest and most well positioned cottage we have stayed in.

The cottage has an excellent location and is in a very clean and presentable condition.

Perfect cottage in perfect location

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful surroundings. So much to see and do.

Liked being in the centre of the village and the position of the cottage with dual aspect to front and back with carefully tended garden at the latter. Liked the attention and lighting given to the old fireplace and the smuggler's den. Overall a delightful place to stay. we will certainly return.
