The location was great for everything that we needed. The views are amazing, you can see Port Issac, the sea and Tintagel from the property. but unfortunately you have to stand on the top step of the patio to enjoy them because the hedge around the patio is too high!! Such a let down for us. Cleanliness and the showers were good.

The bed in the main bedroom was shockingly disappointing, its very old, soft, lumpy and creaky. My wife has returned home with back pain because of this. The rest of the furnishings seem to be upto date and modern so why not the bed?(it is afterall a main part of your holiday).

This is a lovely barn in a great location and deserves 5 stars but its unwelcoming bed and blocked views let it down. Two issues that can easily be rectified.

Thanks for your review of Hyde Barn - we're really pleased that you liked the location with those fantastic sea views. Its a shame that you found the hedge to be overgrown and we will ask that this is attended to. We have asked our Property Manager for the area to check the mattress for comfort. This is a beautifully appointed property in the most stunning location. Every room has magnificent views over the Atlantic, except the extremely useful utility room which was great for dog feeding, washing and wetsuits. Lovely little garden area where you can watch the sunsets with the smell of wild honeysuckle wafting across. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is the double bed is old and extremely soft (although I guess this may work for some people).

Thanks so much for reviewing Hyde Barn and it's wonderful to hear you had a great holiday overall. The views are truly spectacular especially during some of the blustery conditions we've had recently! We've noted your thoughts regarding the mattress - unfortunately mattress comfort can be a tricky thing to get right and it can be difficult to find something that 'ticks the boxes' for everyone. However the comfort of our guests is extremely important to us and we've forwarded your thoughts to the owner for consideration. Bryony, Customer Support

Hyde Barn is ideally placed to explore North Cornwall, close to so many lovely beaches and felt very homely and comfortable from day one.
