We absolutely loved our stay, the cottage is cosy but spacious, great layout and gorgeous decor. The location of the cottage is perfect. Parking was a little tricky, but we knew that on booking and we did manage to fit two cars on. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful property in great location, could not fault it.

A fabulous cottage, perfectly located to explore the Devon coast. Beer is a great base with restaurants, pubs and a beach. The cottage is beautiful with its own parking, is well equipped and feels like a home away from home. The hosts are responsive and very helpful. Perfect.

Thank you so much - we are delighted to hear that Kephalo and the location was such a hit for you! We so hope to welcome you back again to your own home from home. Sarah, Customer Support

Kephalo is a lovely spacious cottage only a short walk to the beach, shops and pubs. The cottage is very well equipped and nicely furnished making it feel very much like a home from home. There is lots to see and do in the area so a perfect place to explore from. All of the bedrooms are a good size and kitchen cupboard space for groceries etc.

The coastal path is easily accessible for walks to Seaton, Branscombe Beach and further afield.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Beer and would certainly return to Kephalo in the future. The owners were very good too, contacting us to say the property was ready earlier than the stated check in time.

Fabulously well appointed and positioned cottage, with lovely outside sun decks and lots of space inside for a large family. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Kephalo Cottage is perfect in every way. It has great sized rooms and beds, and is well equipped. It is also in a beautiful location and is near to other beautiful places.

The cottage was fantastic- everything we could possibly need and extremely comfortable. We have stayed in quite a few classic cottages and we felt this was the best.

The owners made contact with us during the stay to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The property was equipped to the highest standard throughout which made for a great stay and certainly exceeded our expectations from the excellent Classic Cottages website. An added bonus was the off street parking which in small coastal villages such as Beer is hard to come by Ian & Helena Connolly

Deceptively spacious and well appointed accommodation - comfy sofas and beds and a very well equipped kitchen. The sunroom and garden room were a real bonus, allowing our multigenrational family to spread out and find their own space if needed. There was an under counter fridge in the kitchen and another in the utility room plus a freezer too so loads of space for anyone self catering in earnest. Nice touches from the owners of cake and cream tea and milk on arrival and fresh flowers throughout the property. Kephalo was spotlessly clean and the owners were in touch via text to check all was OK. Beer is a lovely village and a great base for exploring further afield too. The beach at nearby Sidmouth was a hit with us too, with a flatter and sandier beach that is more family friendly for paddling and bodyboarding, Paddle boards and kayaks are available for rent at Sidmouth and at Seaton beach too. The Beer Caves tour was very interesting and we also enjoyed our ride on the Seaton Tramway. Just a note on parking at Kephalo. We were a little concerned our slightly larger than average family car (Hyundai Tucson) might be too large for the driveway but although the fit was a little snug it was very doable - you just need to be confident in your reversing! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kephalo to others.

A fantastic location and an excellent layout inside the house, especially if you were away with extended family as the downstairs double bedroom with shower room is perfect for grandparents, leaving the entire first floor to parents/kids. Beer is a delightful village and it's such an easy walk to the beach from the house. A lovely, relaxing place to stay.

Beautiful house, very clean, bedroom and shower room very convenient and worked well with our family. Parking via drive for two small cars that are not low. There is additional parking in village though (only a couple minutes walk) £6 for 24 hrs but can get very busy in high season and there were occasions that we couldn’t get parked so had to drive around the village looking for a parking space. Village where the house is located is lovely, great beach and good facilities- pubs, deli, fish and chips, shops, cafes… Nice local walks around. Other nice seaside towns around locally to visit too. Overall we had a great week and would recommend the accommodation.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Well appointed with quality fittings and spotlessly clean. Very helpful owners and special touches such as fresh flowers and delicious cake. Take notice of warnings about steep drive but other parking nearby.

We had a lovely stay at Kephalo. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. It was a perfect holiday in a lovely village. We only used the car once as we spent our time walking and on the beach.

The house was clean, welcoming and spacious enough for us. The owners kept in touch too by text, which was a great comfort. They sound fantastic and passionate about their holiday home. All in all a fantastic and much needed break, in a lovely location in an amazing holiday home.

Kephalo is a lovely, welcoming home ideally situated in the centre of Beer. Beer itself has everything you need during a holiday; general store, delicatessen, pub and other shops. The house was very comfortable and clean and has a nice, cosy feel to it. The downstairs bedroom is ideally suited to grandparents as it’s tucked away at the rear of the house and has a shower room adjacent. The conservatory is ideal for a cuppa and a read (or glass of wine!). The parking is a bit of a squeeze and on a gradient but the village car park is very close by. We all had a lovely time at Kephalo and enjoyed exploring the area (Beer Quarry Caves, donkey sanctuary near Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Branscombe beach).

The property was a very high standard with excellent attention to detail and freshly decorated. The owners clearly take great pride in welcoming people, including providing fresh flowers and home-baked cake. Highly recommended.

This house is in a idyllic spot just a couple of minutes walk away from beer beach. House had everything you could possibly need and arriving to a perfectly laid table with cotton table clothes and freshly made lemon drizzle cake was lovely. The property owners were exceptional too, we loved our stay so much and would definitely stay again

Kephalo was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage is extremely well equipped and all the bedrooms are a good size, even the single. We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of space to spread out. The location is perfect - close enough to the village and the beach but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. And very close to some beautiful coastal walks. Nichola and Alan proved wonderful hosts. They couldn't do enough for us and were always on hand to answer any questions. We even had lovely homemade cake and scones awaiting us on arrival, which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage ideal location. Beautifully decorated and equipped. Highly recommended

5 star service, 5 star cottage

Such a lovely cottage to relax in plenty of room and really comfortable. Great location and the garden house was a great find and a great place to chill. A lot of thought has gone in to making this a great place for people to enjoy their stay there.

The Cottage was everything we hoped for and more. Every little detail had been catered for. We didn't need a thing. It made our holiday very relaxing and easy from the very start. It more than met our needs. The little personal touches such as the fresh flowers and delicious homemade cake and scones made us feel very welcome. As did the welcome card and introductory text from Nichola and Alan. This holiday cottage was by far the best we have ever stayed in. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay during half term week in May. The house was very clean and the kitchen was equipped with everything you could think of and need. The house is very spacious with a lovely garden area. On arrival there was scones and a freshly baked cake which was amazing! There was also milk in the fridge.Just what you need if you have been on a long journey. The location was great, a 5 min walk into Beer and was a great base if you wish to visit other places around Beer. We received a seamless service from initial booking to check out. We would thorough recommend staying at Kephalo

The accommodation was superb. Excellent attention to detail, bright and clean and wonderfully comfortable. The owners were also very friendly and lovely to deal with offering just the right amount of help we needed. We liked: The comfortable sofas. Lots of areas to relax - living room, conservatory, summer house. Well equipped kitchen with large dining table.

Excellent and tastefully done cottage with really helpful owners who helped us in and treated us to a cream tea to boot! Cottage is very well placed near to shops, cafes, beach and coastal path.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. We felt so at home and enjoyed the special touches and thought that had gone into this lovely family home. Can’t recommend it enough!
