Plovers Barron is a spacious listed 17th Century village cottage with plenty of character alongside an excellent contemporary make-over, and a large enclosed garden.
The dining-room doubles as a snug - there will be a large flat screen TV in this room as well as a TV in the main sitting-room.
At the back of the cottage there is a wonderful fully enclosed garden with an orchard at the far end. This little stone outbuilding is not in use but guests have a large games-room in the garage.
At the far end of the garden is a little fruit orchard. This is a wonderful garden for children to explore as it is fully enclosed.
Just a few minutes downhill from Westleigh you will find the Tarka cycle trail. Within moments you will be at Instow's wonderful sandy beach, looking across the estuary to Appledore.
A door from the sitting-room leads out into the lovely garden.
This is the original cross-passage with its historic panelling. A stable-door takes you out to the back garden. There is a cloakroom to the right and then the wooden stairs to the first floor.
The original wooden panelling is a real feature of this historic property.
The kitchen has its own door to the outside ( and an outhouse for secure bike storage ) and a couple of steps take you down into the dining-room and snug.
You can stroll to the local pub for supper but if you want to eat in, the dining-room is just perfect for a celebration or simply a happy holiday meal.
There is a games room in the garage. Access is through the garden. This is separate to the outbuilding which offers safe bike storage.
The dining-room has the feature of this ornamental fireplace.
This is the dual-aspect master bedroom.
The en suite bathroom is up the steps to the right and to the left, also up some steps, is a cot room or dressing-room.
The en suite bathroom is fabulous, with its roll-top bath, hand-made basin surround and hand designed feature wall!
Another view in the master bedroom so that you can see how the en suite and the dressing-room are situated.
This really is an exceptionally spacious bedroom.
This is the double bedroom, peaceful and calm and with its outlook to the front of the cottage.
As with the master bedroom the high ceiling creates a feeling of space and light.
The dressing table adds a contemporary twist.
This is the pretty twin bedroom. The sloping ceiling is a real feature of this age of property but do take care of your heads.
Another view of the dual-aspect twin bedroom.
There is a very large walk-in cupboard on the landing for clothes hanging.
The family shower-room offers an excellent large shower.
There are two shower heads so that you can have a rainfull drenching or use the lower shower head for children.
There is a stylish bespoke basin surround.
This says it all. An historic property with an intriguing name and a wealth of history. The hamlet of Westleigh is so picturesque with an abundance of period properties.

Everything about the cottage and location was fantastic. Great garden; good size bedrooms and separate dining room, kitchen and lounge was lovely. Owners were also very welcoming. We enjoyed every moment and would certainly return.
