June 2018

We rented Barnell Cottage as a base for our daughter’s wedding in the village. The cottage is a little piece of heaven - an absolutely enchanting place to stay, in an idyllic setting. The large conservatory/family room is particularly lovely. The owners are super friendly and kind; they left flowers, fresh eggs and other goodies, and sorted our recycling midweek(as we had lots of people visiting). A brilliant location for a stay in this picture perfect village. We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Lovely cottage in a nice setting and a great base for exploring Devon and Dorset.

June 2018

We had a lovely holiday. The cottage was in the most delightful position and the peace and quiet of the location was just what we wanted.

April 2018

We had the most wonderful stay at Barnell Cottage. Not only is it in a beautiful, quiet location, close to the beach and little village pub; it is a brilliantly equipped cottage, that has absolutely everything you could need: Plenty of parking, big front garden (which the kids and dog loved!) outdoor furniture & bbq, good sized kitchen/diner, sitting room with gorgeous views, snug area fully equipped with plenty of games for kids and adults and good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Not to mention all utensils, bed linen, towels, tea and coffee etc. We were greeted by the owners personally, they had left us fresh eggs, milk, biscuits and prosecco, such a lovely touch! We were there to celebrate a family birthday and it couldn’t have been more perfect, we went to the local pub for lunch, had a lovely flat walk to the beach, had drinks at the beach cafe and even hired chefs to cook dinner for us at the cottage. The owners were always on hand to check we were ok, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend Barnell Cottage and it’s gorgeous location. The only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay for longer!

Superb cottage: beautifully presented, comfortably furnished and equipped to the highest standards. And all in a lovely valley with great views, local pubs and muddy walks. Kids thrilled to have properly functioning wifi - which pleased their parents too... Fabulous place.
