This is ideal for a group of people whose main priority is to be near the beach- possibly keen on sea sports or walking along the coastal paths. It spacious with a large kitchen filled with a good range of equipment allowing for catering for a large group without the hassle of having to always find a restaurant for meals.

Certainly one of the best properties we have stayed in over the many years we have been going on walking holidays.

The location of Pond House is fabulous, with lovely views, however it is in need of some care, attention and TLC.

Thanks so much for your feedback and suggestions which we've passed on to the owners. Tanya, Customer Support

A well sized house for 6 adults and 4 children with excellent access to the lovely beach of Bigbury-on-sea.

A brilliant location with fantastic views - we will definitely be returning.

Thank you.

Perfect position for a family beach holiday.

Comfortable, nice walks on the beach. Bit too remote for us to return. Windy narrow roads to get in and out, twenty five minutes and more to other places. If you want to do water sports from your holiday home, ideal.

Wonderful location fabulous views great access to the beach. Will definitely book with you again. Good parking for 4 cars. The house Could do with a little TLC but overall a very enjoyable stay.

Clean, well furnished and good parking. Location next to beach is wonderful if you have small children in your group. Thanks

Children - and adults - loved being so near the beach

Lovely house, sunny balcony. Huge lounge with comfortable sofa and chairs. Bedrooms are lovely with very comfy beds! It would be difficult to find a house closer to the beach, which is lovely and you don't have to wait long for the tide to go out for some beach to be accessible. There is a cafe just a few yards a long the beach. So easy to walk across to Burgh Island where you can have fish and chips at The Pilchard Inn! We would return to this house!

If it's a beach holiday you want this is the place.

Ideal location, beautiful part of the country, lovely for children surfing etc

This House is positioned right opposite access to Bigbury Bay Beach and the South Coast Path making it an enviable location for young families and walkers alike. The views overlooking Bantham Beach towards Hope Cover are exceptional (when the sun is shining) - very photogenic and loved by all our 9 person family. Woebetide you if the wind is blowing directly from the East ….its cold !
I hope to encourage anyone thinking of staying in this house to go without any further hesitation as we had a very happy holiday there.

We are 'The Lemmings' - a walking group who have been going away together annually for over 40 years, we are now very elderly and diminished in numbers. This was the perfect house for us. We enjoyed being able to go on a long walk from the house, without using cars. We ate at The Pickwick Inn and Journeys End Inn - the former had good food at a reasonable price, the latter was amazing both in quality of food and ambience (although more expensive, but worth it). Another evening, we all contributed to a meal at the house. Most of us walked to and around Burgh Island, while one flew his kite. On the rainy day, we visited Saltram House and gardens and were able to borrow a wheelchair for our disabled member. Very happy memories.

Well we've never had a review from 'The Lemming's' before but we're pleased we have now! Thanks so much for taking the time to review Pond House and we're delighted that it met all your expectations and worked very well for you and your group of friends. The location is truly wonderful and it's great to hear you were able to soak up much of what Bigbury-on-Sea has to offer - we do hope to welcome you again in the future. Bryony, Customer Support

This is a fine house in a fabulous location. But the showers were awful. The housekeeper came and couldn’t have tried harder but for 7 people to wash it proved very challenging.

We're pleased to hear that you liked this spacious house and its beach side location. Unfortunately low water pressure is common to this area and can mean that shower quality can be affected when multiple facilities are in use. Alison, Customer Support

Brilliant accommodation for a family with young children. Simply walk across the road, bare footed if you like onto the beach! What could be easier. It was so good we booked again for next year before we had even left this year!

Great house, great location so near to the lovely beach.

Great beachside location, comfortable, spacious living areas

We had a lovely stay and the weather was great. The property was really comfortable and we had all we needed.

This is a very well equipped and spacious house in a perfect position for the beach and coastal walks. Other than dissapointing showers (would give 5* rating otherwise) we could not find fault. Plenty of on-site parking (5/6 cars). Housekeeper lives nearby and was readily approachable and helpful.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review Pond House - we're pleased you enjoyed its great location. We appreciate that the shower pressure is on the lower side and they are standard showers rather than power showers. We've shared your feedback with the owners who confirmed they are looking to improve these facilities over the winter. Alison, Customer Support

Good location and views across the bay. Good all round family accommodation.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed in this cottage, with the few exceptions stated in our Review Guidelines.
