Lovely well thought out barn conversion which the owners have obviously given a lot of thought into setting up as a holiday cottage. Although we found the cottage very nice and reasonably comfortable (the sofa was a little uncomfortable, but the king size bed was very comfortable) we felt it would have been helpful if the photos had showed the fact that the garden was not exactly private. The house opposite was very close, so we felt very overlooked. The lack of privacy could easily be rectified with some fencing or planting in the garden and a curtain in the kitchen at the front door. Apart from that the cottage is in a very good position for visiting both the coast and Dartmoor, both being about half an hour drive from the cottage. There is also a very pretty nature reserve 10 minutes walk from the cottage. Would have given this cottage 5 stars but had to drop one due to the privacy issues.

Oak cottage is exactly as described on the website and arrival information. Be prepared for the dirt track leading up to the cottage as it is bumpy and be prepared for narrow roads and high hedgerows as you approach (fine if you are used to thse driving conditions, but it takes a bit of getting used to if not!).

The cottage is cosy, very well equipped, comfortable and in a peaceful location. There is a very helpful and useful guide to local beaches, pubs and restaurants. We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely.

We enjoyed Oak cottage, it was a lovely place to relax. We appreciated the peace and privacy. The location was very good, being 25 minutes drive from 6 or so beaches, coves and Dartmoor places.

A hidden gem. Felt like home straight away.

The cottage was a great find. Disappointed with the cleanliness of it especially with covid. Lots of dust and hadn't been hoovered well at all. I had to ask the owner for the hoover. If it had been cleaned to a high standard I'd have given 5 stars.

The cottage was very comfortable, homely and well looked after and we enjoyed our week there very much. Thank you!

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location- convenient for beaches and Dartmoor, this bit of South Devon was a revelation for us, so much to do with small children! The cottage itself is tucked away in a pretty rural spot. Loved the decor, very cosy and very clean and well equipped. We had an absolutely fantastic week at Oak Cottage.

The cottage was just as lovely as the pictures show and was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished/decorated. A text from Maria before we arrived with information about a flood on a nearby road was welcome, as was her visit after our arrival. The neighbours were very friendly and the ladies who own the horses kept on the fields were lovely and so kind to let my daughter come and see them in their stables.

I have stayed in so many cottages over the years including two others from Classic Cottages. Oak Cottage was by far the best equipped, charming and best cottage I have ever stayed in. We had such a warm welcome from Maria, and after such a tedious journey on a bank holiday Saturday with two small children it was such a joy to walk in to Oak Cottage, as well as being a delightful cottage the garden was also ideal with the animals being another added attraction especially for a 5 and 2 year old.

There was only one small downside and that was the track leading up to the cottage but I know nothing can be done about that and it is a common problem in the country.

We definitely plan to return to the cottage as we all loved it so much.

As a family of 5 we had a fantastic time staying at Oak cottage. It was beautiful, in a wonderful setting. It provided everything we needed and more and at times it was a challenge to get the family to go out because of their reluctance to leave the wonderful comforts of the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oak Cottage.

Highly recommend Oak Cottage.

The cottage and its surroundings provide a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life in the big cities.

Everything was perfect here - excellent instructions on how to get there, a clean and tidy first impression (thanks, Maria!), a kitchen with everything that we needed (and more), a BBQ (what a surprise), toys and games for the children (we loved the miniature goal and football in the garden), Netflix and broadband WiFi, and a very charming building, well restored. It could not have been better.

Overall a lovely cottage in a great location.
