Whether rain or shine this was an ideal cottage to either sit on the balcony, or walk from, or swim from. Comfortable bed, cosy sofa, and the first time I have come across a tin with needle and thread provided. The only problem was the inches I put on with the scones, jam and cream, together with the Cornish cider left for me.

Perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the views of both countryside and sea.

perfectly fine

Little Phoenix is the perfect get away cottage and Talland Bay perfect for walks to Polperro and Looe.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The only thing i would say is that glad we didnt come in peak season as the road access isnt great

Highly recommend it for an out of season stay.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Little Phoenix - the housekeeper contacted us to let us know the cottage was ready from 2.30pm instead of 5pm, which was great, but once in, there was an overpowering smell of bleach and the bathroom floor was still very wet. We had to open all the windows and doors to reduce the smell of bleach and concerned that only bleach had been used to clean the property (bleach kills germs but does not clean). When we went upstairs to the lounge area we had to brush down the sofa before we could sit on it as covered in dog hair. We turned the lights on in the living area to find that 3 out of the 4 did not work in the celling, 1 spot over the cooker was also not working and the two lights in the extractor also did not work, so made it very dark and dingy. There was also a security light outside that did not work, so when we came back in the dark you could not see where you were going and needed to use our torches on the phones. I felt was this very dangerous as there were steps down to the front door so we contacted the housekeeper who told us the owner would be in ouch. The owner came out the next day and said nothing could be done as it was the holidays and to put on the other standing lights and to contact Classic Cottages ??? He said the security light had been turned off. Other issues where that there was not a point in the bathroom to charge a toothbrush or plug a shaver in the cutlery and cooking utensils need replacing (all the plates and glasses had been replaced). Due to the accommodation being depressing...even the Christmas Tree looked sorry for itself we decided to cut short our trip by two days.

Thanks so much for sharing your review of Little Phoenix. We're so sorry that the floor was still a little damp and some cleaning odours remained when you arrived. The housekeeper had hoped to assist by offering an early arrival once she'd finished if you wished, a couple of hours before the advertised arrival time (by which time the floor would have been dry). We apologise for any inconvenience. As we weren't aware of your thoughts on the cleanliness and kitchen utensils during your stay, we have since arranged a follow up inspection and can confirm that we found the property to be clean and well maintained with all required inventory items in good condition when we visited. The blown indoor bulbs have been replaced and the motion sensitive element of the outdoor light is currently disabled due being activated by passing traffic; however it can still be switched on and off as required. We're really sorry that Little Phoenix wasn't quite right for you, but we're pleased to have reached a suitable resolution. Julie, Customer Support

Amazing place to stay with dogs , lots of lovely walks straight from front door

A peaceful, relaxing place to stay with beautiful views of both the sea and countryside.

cottage was in a lovely location over looking sea but cottage is very tired and furniture in lounge area not very comfy as for not being able to get into cottage till 5-00 pm because of deep clean well that as to be questioned but overall a nice stay

Thanks so much for passing on your thoughts on Little Phoenix. We're so pleased that you loved the location - it really is quite special. We're sorry to see that you found the furniture a little uncomfortable; we have shared your comments with the owners who do have a rolling programme of reinvestment over the winter months. We're delighted that you enjoyed the stay overall. Tanya, Customer Support

We had a fantastic week at Little Phoenix! The location was perfect for daily paddle boarding from Talland Bay and we were very fortunate with the weather. It was especially lovely to find our welcome treat of scones, strawberries and clotted cream! The wild flower arrangements were gorgeous too. Thank you so much, Little Phoenix is certainly on our list for places to return to!

Wonderful location with fabulous views. Little Phoenix is comfortable but slightly dated.

Perfect location for autumn get away

Lovely cottage for 2. Nice decor. Beautiful views. Quiet area, perfect if you just want a relaxing break in a quiet location. Nice coastal walks.

I would thoroughly recommend anyone who's thinking of booking this property to do so. My boyfriend and I stayed here early-mid September and had a fantastic time. We arrived after a long 8-hr journey to find ourselves in paradise. We were welcomed with some chocolates and fresh apple juice from the housekeeper upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. The location of the cottage is on the main small road down into Talland Bay - a struggle at times as it's only one lane wide. It's a one minute walk to the beach and nearby cafe and you can walk around the corner to another part of Talland Bay where there's a restaurant that serves a spectacular beach BBQ. The cottage had everything we needed (and more) and was thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. We had glorious weather the whole week and made the most of the wonderful balcony off the living room/kitchen to admire the seaviews. There is lovely walks to Looe and Polperro from Talland Bay. We did the walk to and from Polperro which took about 40 minutes and there were lots of restaurants and shops to visit. We loved every minute of our 2020 staycation at the Little Phoenix and can't wait to return already!

Great location but a lack of cleaning before our arrival let it down. It was particularly annoying considering we were only allowed in later than normal due to extra Covid cleaning. The cottage is tired and needs refurbishing.

Nice location and some pleasant walks nearby, particularly the walk to Polperro.

Anyone thinking of booking this property I would truly recommend it. If you love walking the coast path and enjoy strolling around small fishing villages and watching the comings and goings in a busy harbour town and maybe a look around little shops, then this is a must for you! This was our first time in this area and already can’t wait to go back and will definitely be staying at ‘Little Phoenix’ again :)....and absolutely a must if you have a four legged friend as dog friendly everywhere.

We had a fantastic week, weather much better than we expected and we were able to take advantage of the outside seating on several occasions. Little Phoenix has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The position of Little Phoenix gives you wonderful views of the surrounding area, both sea and countryside, we saw quite of lot of wildlife in the field next door including rabbits and foxes. Wouldn't hesitate recommending Little Phoenix. Thank you also for the lovely cream tea that was waiting for us on our arrival.

Beautiful & peaceful place to stay! Really lived up to our expectations. Will definitely return for another visit. Loved it!

Great sea views and a pretty well equipped cottage. Well placed for walking the coastal paths.

A lovely cottage with stunning views in a beautiful location.

Beautiful setting and scenery - ideal place to stay between Polperro and Looe

Great location, and great for our two small dogs. Beach is close by, reasonable hiking distance to Polperro. Highly recommended.

We're so pleased you enjoyed your time at Talland Bay. It's a beautifully tucked away location, so you do need to hop in the car at some points (unless you'd prefer a stroll along the coast path), but there are several options for dining out within a couple of miles. Alternatively, you could pick up some fabulously fresh fish or local produce when out exploring and create a culinary masterpiece for yourself back at Little Phoenix! Tanya, Customer Support

Good location for walkers.

Excellent location, very clean and comfortable

Great little cottage within a stones throw of Talland beach and close to coastal path with easy access to Polperro and Looe. We had a fantastic time here, and so did our dog. I would highly recommend this cottage.

We loved this cottage, it was clean, well equipped & the views were great. we visited in the week storm Dianne arrived & were treated to some spectacular scenes with the waves crashing on the rocks & beach. the beach is less than a 2 minute walk & our dogs loved their walks on it, leaping over the rocks & into the pools. I think we will be back in the next few years, possibly with our daughter & grandchildren as you can rent the property next door (Phoenix) & there is a gate between them so the grandchildren can come round without using the road.

Superb location. If all the above had been done it was a lovely , peaceful place to stay.

The views from the cottage are fantastic and the bay it sits in is gorgeous. There’s a lovely beach cafe about 2 minutes walk away and the beach itself is very safe for swimming, rock pooling etc and allows dogs all year. The cottage itself although comfortable is a bit tired, and don’t expect a homemade cake with fresh flowers upon arrival. Take everything with you down to the salt and pepper if you’re going to properly self cater. The walk to the nearest pub in Polperro is a good 45 minutes on the coastal path but well worth the hike. We found that family’s and dogs were welcomed everywhere and that Cornwall still has its laid back nothing’s any bother friendly attitude to life!

This was our 16th visit to Little Phoenix, it is the perfect spot for a tranquil break. We swam in the bay and walked the coastal path to Polperro. Heaven! The perfect spot and we will continue to visit every year or more if we can get away.

Loved the general area travelled to different places every day both beachs (for the dogs) and towns and villages for ourselves. Loved the Blue Peter and Crumplehorn Hotel in Polperro and visited either one or both each evening for both drinks and or food as they were both dog friendly and offered good quality food and drink at a reasonable price and both virtually on the doorstep, well nearly.

Just a stone's throw from the beach and a lovely little cafe, Little Phoenix is in a fabulous location and right on the coast path.

Stunning views of Talland Bay from front of property and tranquil country views from the back complete with sheep, rabbits and pheasants. Perfect location for walking The South West Coastal path- half an hour walk to Polperro and about 2 hours to Looe. Cottage is beautifully decorated in cool, relaxing colours and great pieces of local artwork dotted about. Fresh flowers in the lounge was a welcoming touch. So pleased we booked this cottage - it was our first visit to Cornwall and will definitely not be our last!

We had a very pleasant stay over Christmas 2017 and would not hesitate from recommending Little Phoenix for a quiet holiday.

We have been coming down to stay in Little Phoenix for many years. This was our 15th visit and it was lovely as usual, we love Little Phoenix and we love Talland Bay, the beach and cafe, the walks to Looe and Polperro. All the great eateries. A perfect spot. The views from Little Phoenix are amazing, you can gaze out to sea from your balcony and watch the boats and ships go by.

A fabulous cottage for two -and a dog - in a beautiful setting.
