The pictures of Larkworthy Retreat do not do it justice. It truly is an amazing place to stay. The hut itself is out of this world. My partner who is a carpenter himself couldnt fault the craftmanship, the build. Gill made us feel extremely welcome and relaxed. The grounds are so peaceful and relaxing. It really is a wonderful place to stay, Gill & Will should be very proud. We will be returning.

April 2018

Liked the fresh flowers from the garden. Watching the birds at the feeders. The cream tea when we arrived and the home made biscuits. Also liked the horses in the field.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The shepherd's hut is surprisingly spacious and the outdoor space is amazing. It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and is very comfortable. We brought our dog and she enjoyed walks in the fields on the smallholding and on the nearby Tarka Trail. It's a good location for getting to the North Devon and North Cornwall beaches. The owners are really friendly and provided thoughtful touches like scones, clotted cream and jam on arrival and homemade biscuits. The accommodation feels private as it is in its own field away from the house and cottage, next to the stables. Would definitely recommend!

A beautiful property in a wonderful location.Gill and Will 'will make you feel very welcome on arrival and are very friendly.the cream tea after travelling down was delicious. The retreat has everything you need and more.A dogs paradise, the 6 acre field is great for dogs,we didn't use the outside fire ,but it would be lovely on a summers night.the bed was so comfortable, and it was nice to have a full size shower in the retreat.we didn't watch the television the whole of our stay, was nice to just watch the wildlife, birds'owls'bats and listen to the radio,so quiet and tranquil. It is within easy reach of all North Devon and Cornwall coasts and the tarka trail.we loved it and wish we could have stayed longer,we will be back
