Brookland Barn is an exceptional, secluded property. We unwound there, away from the busy-ness of day to day life. It is well linked to many things; we spent a day at the spa, a day at Barrington Court (NT property), and another day exploring Corfe and Swanage. Shaftesbury is just a short drive away - a beautiful old town, steeped in history and overlooking glorious countryside. The barn provided more than just a base - it was a treat in itself to reside there. The owners introduced themselves, then let us be. Perfect.

November 2016

Wonderful comfort within glorious countryside. A modt outstanding property.

October 2016

We had to come back to this creme-de-la-creme classic. It ticks all the boxes and all are five star. We especially appreciated the quiet. It is not near a noisy road nor under a flight path, so for perfect peace we had just to disconnected the clock. The quiet of the summer house has only the song of the birds to disturb it; the perfect retreat.

September 2016

Absolutely perfect place to stay , everything possible had been done to make holiday enjoyable . Surroundings peaceful , and loved watching the Squirrels and horses .

June 2016

Very welcoming hosts who have put a lot of thought into making the property a success.

May 2016

As Beethoven is to classical music, so Brookland Barn is to classic cottages. It is the best we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. It's not the holiday cottage, but, the practical and tasteful touches that the owners apply that make the stay so relaxed: Central heating that works well and is controlled from a single dial, cutlery knives that are actually sharp, linen presented as in a grand hotel are but a few. They can take credit for the ivy clad tree 6' from the kitchen window and some, perhaps, for the spotted flycatcher that had its nest there.

March 2016

We had a very pleasant Easter family break in this lovely barn - plenty to do in the local area, and the wifi came in handy when the weather was horrid!

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed in this cottage, with the few exceptions stated in our Review Guidelines.
