Kentisbury Cottage is tucked down a private lane on the edge of the village. The shop and one of the two pubs are a perfect five minute stroll away.
This is a beautifully renovated, very old cottage - there are therefore quite a few internal steps to different areas, steep stairs and some low beams - all adding character but do take care.
This is Woolacombe Beach. It adjoins Putsborough Beach and this wonderful stretch of sand is the closest to the cottage.
A well-designed kitchen makes the most of the space with a walk-in larder at the far end.
Kentisbury Cottage has an enclosed garden with a wooden fence on one side and a bank and hedging to the other. The garden seating and barbecue are at the bottom end of the garden.
The open plan living-room overlooks the lovely enclosed garden.
There is a stable-door to the back of the cottage where you can park your car.
The master bedroom, as with the other bedrooms, has painted floorboards and original cottage doors.
Another view of the master bedroom which has a side window across the lane and the fields, and a front window looking over the garden.
This bedroom also has a double bed and overlooks the garden.
This is the twin bedroom. Please take care of the step outside the bedroom door, to the inset landing at the top of the stairs.
Another view of the twin bedroom.
The bathroom is really pretty - a three-quarter sized bath fits perfectly and you have the flexibility of a shower too (there is also a downstairs WC).
Coming in through the garden-room, the hall is as prettily presented as the rest of the house.
The garden-room enjoys a view over the south-facing garden and is a lovely peaceful place to sit with a coffee before starting the day.
Yes another amazing beach - this is Saunton Sands.
A very short drive along the coast is the renowned surfing beach at Croyde Bay.

We were looking for a special 'honeymoon' retreat and Kentisbury Cottage, was exactly this - it exceeded our expectations in every way!

The standard of cleanliness, comfort, furnishings and equipment was excellent, we did not want for anything. The location is perfect; beautiful beaches on your doorstep, two fabulous pubs, with excellent food and first class service and a local community shop - what more could you want?!

We have already highly recommended to our family and friends and we will definitely be looking to return.

We had a magical time, thank you very much :)

September 2015

Gorgeous cottage that was actually a really good size with a lovely secure garden for the dog. My 6ft3in partner did have a few head crunches on the beams and door ways but i was fine, being only 5ft5in. We also found the stairs to be quite steep but not enough to stop us going again. We got engaged at Kentisbury Cottage on our break so I'm looking forward to coming back for our honeymoon break! Fantastic break in a great location.
