We stayed from 30th December to 6th Jan. The cottage itself is so quaint, unique and decorated so nicely. The log fire made the accommodation very cosy and comfortable, so much so that we ended up staying in most nights rather than go out in the cold! The location is great and there seems to be a walking path which would take you into Helston so that you bypass the road; unfortunately this was a bit too boggy and wet for us but I imagine in Summer time, when dry, this would create an easy stroll into Helston. We loved Porthleven and this was only a short drive away. Lots of dog friendly pubs and eateries. There is plenty to do around this property, and there are lots of walks and National Trust areas to explore so you won't be bored. Plenty to do with a doggy as well. The owners left us a little treat for our arrival which was such a thoughtful touch, thank you! eWe also loved the visits from the resident dogss
Mrs Browning September 2021
Lovely cosy cottage ideal for 2 plus dog. Quiet and peaceful lovely place to relax. Early morning sun on the decking made it a very pleasant place to eat breakfast and watch the ponies in the fields below. Wonderful walks available from the cottage without having to use the car but lots of places to explore within a short distance on the Lizard Penninsula as well. Ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday.
Mrs Scott September 2021
Excellent property, very comfortable. Ideally situated for many different places to visit. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Mr Hall August 2021
An ideal little cottage for one or two people for a break. Comfortable seating and bed. Easy walk into Helston. Good location for touring the South West.
Miss King August 2021
Beautiful cottage, perfect location
Mrs Gent August 2021
Well located cottage for a quiet getaway, country feel but close enough to amenities such as supermarkets, and convenient for exploring the local area.
Walking distance to the Penrose estate and the coast. Good driving distance from places like St Michael's Mount, Porthcurno and Land's End.
A lovely walk found by parking at The Lizard, and following the coastal path to Kynance Cove.
Mrs Fretwell July 2021
Great location for exploring the most southern part of Cornwall. Lots to do within a few miles of the cottage. Lovely peaceful location.
Mr Scoular-Baldwin June 2021
Cottage is in a great location and has lovely green views. Very quiet and secluded and overall we had an enjoyable stay. However host only provided one toilet roll and one bin bag and would not provide more when asked. Host seemed uninterested in whether we were having a good time and was rude to my parents who accidentally used the wrong drive for a few minutes. Because of this, we would not stay there again.

We're pleased to see that you liked the location and views here but sorry that you were unhappy with the provision of household items. As a self-catering property, we ask owners to leave an initial supply of items - you can see the full list in the 'Staying With Us' section of our website. Owners do have to find the balance of being available when needed and giving guests space to enjoy their stay, especially when they live on site as well, and we're sorry that you felt they weren't interested as we know that the owners of Newham House Cottage are very committed to providing a great holiday base. Please give our team a call if you'd like any help in choosing a property in the future. Tanya, Customer Support

Wonderful little cottage tucked away down narrow lane. Quiet restful location. Easy access to Lizard, Marazion, Hayle, Flamouth and Lands End. Have booked again for next year.
Mrs Gibson October 2020
The cottage was very cosy and comfortable, the location is good and the owners very friendly and helpful. Log burner was great and the owner was happy for us to help ourself from the log store. Fantastic walks direct from the cottage and a fantastic real ale pub(The Blue Anchor) within easy walking distance, although there is a very short section at the end of the lane where you have to walk on the road before you reach the grass verge to walk into town, remember a torch as the lane to the cottage is unlit. We would recommend the cottage and would happily stay here again. Nick & Jackie Gibson

Newham House Cottage is a small but lovely cottage for two and a dog. Its in a lovely setting and close to Helston but not in it. Porthleven is a great place and typically Cornish. Penrose Estate is only 10 minutes drive away and a fantastic place especially for walking.

The cottage is so quaint and ideal for a couple looking for a relaxing week. We love that its dog friendly and you get space at on the field for your dog to run around. It feels private and the location is for walking into town or visiting some beautiful locations such as the lizard and Cayance cove is fantastic. This was our second visit and we enjoyed it just as much as out first. Thanks to Helen and Tim

Absolutely perfect for a quiet and relaxing week away from hectic life. The walks are fantastic around here.
Mrs Weimers July 2017
We enjoyed our week at the cottage. Comfortably equipped for two plus dog, including cosy wood burner for cooler weather. (Thank you for the dog chew and blanket! Much appreciated by the recipient.) Helpful and friendly hosts. Cottage is set in peaceful countryside on the edge of the owners' property. Views from the kitchen across the field provided lots of opportunity to see the local wildlife, but the useful little enclosed garden area meant their peace wasn't disturbed by the addition of a playful spaniel. Cottage is very well placed for exploring the Lizard and beyond, with Porthleven only 2.5 miles away and Helston in walking distance.
Mrs Rainbow June 2017
