This was our second time staying in this lovely cottage and hopefully it won’t be our last! Warm and cosy, beautifully decorated throughout and had everything we needed. Perfect position for blustery winter walks in the Burrows and lots of eating out options in Appledore. Parking was easy at the car park behind the cottage, and there were lots of spaces available. Appledore is a firm favourite and we will definitely be back! ...

Absolutely beautiful cottage, we would definitely return here. Everthing in the cottage was high quality, very clean. in a wonderful village. Just steps away from the nearest pub which does excellent food. Lovely pubs which also do food. Local store and deli, chippy. Plenty of places to visit not too far away especially loved ilfracoombe and the statue of Verity. Lynmouth is worth a visit, it's very pretty....

We are a family of 4 (2x adults with a son aged 15 and a daughter aged 13). This was our 3rd time at Poacher's Cottage. We love it here. It is perfectly located for a stay in beautiful Appledore. The cottage is clean, well decorated and comfortable, set in a small court off the characterful Irsha Street. Whilst it may not have on-site parking, there is a small car park a 2-min walk away (£30 p/wk). There are excellent pubs, cafes, restaurants and fish & chip shops in Appledore, as well as an excellent delicatessen & convenience shop, John's. Our favourite restaurant with views over the estuary, the Royal George, is about 6 steps away so most convenient. We enjoyed walks around Northam Burrows, jumping the waves at Westward Ho!, a long coastal walk at Hartland, taking the ferry across to Instow, crabbing on the Quay, eating Hockings ice cream, watching the Appledore Brass Band on the Quay, visiting the North Devon Maritime Museum, watching the fabulous sunsets over the estuary and walking to Bideford then to Instow & back across the river to Appledore. We recommend going out on the river with Appledore Sails - just wonderful. Appledore is a gem of a place with constantly changing views across the estuary and lots of places to visit within easy distance. Poacher's Cottage really is the perfect base. We hope to return a 4th time....
