This cottage is in a perfect location for visiting Dartmoor - lots of interesting places within a 30 minute drive and many closer. We were a group of 5 adults and a dog and we all had a wonderful time. We did a good walk most days (either from one of the Dartmoor Visitor centres or on National Trust land). The cottage accommodation suited us perfectly and the arrangements were very easy.

Moorside is a beautifully designed and furnished cottage, with a peaceful and secure garden, which both dogs loved, in a wonderful area. It felt calm; we all relaxed there. Brian is a friendly and attentive but discreet host. We could not have had a better time.

June 2018

Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting. Extremely well equipped and the decor is lovely. Find it hard to pick out any negatives about this cottage and we have stayed in quite a few over the years. Book this place and you won't be disappointed.

April 2018

Our second holiday at Moorside was as relaxing and comfortable as the first. Great location, walking from the door up onto the moors with the dogs. Great social space in the kitchen/diner and fabulous lounge with woodburner to relax in. Wonderfully peaceful with great views and the odd deer in the distance.

April 2018

This cottage is perfect for a family get away ~ comfy and well equipped. Cosy evenings in the sitting room with games and books to use and plenty of space for family suppers in the lovely open plan kitchen dining room. Thoroughly recommend it!

March 2018

Lovely location - walks from the door. Nothing to improve on - instant relaxation as you walked through the door. Underfloor heating whilst it snowed outside! Spacious and welcoming cottage. Didn’t want to go home!

October 2017

Very comfortable and light for staying indoors when wet, with a book and the woodburner, space for the children to play. The garden was attractive, with a sunny area to sit out, with privacy and views. Some walks from the door, but better ones were a drive away. Quiet, peaceful, and dark at night. Our dogs enjoyed the underfloor heating.

August 2017

Lovely cottage with central location to visit beaches in Devon and Cornwall: driving distance approx 1/2 to 1 hour

August 2017

Moorside provided the perfect base for exploring Dartmoor. The cottage was very appealing in terms of decor and comfort; the layout made it feel really spacious, as well as light and airy. It was a very comfortable place to rest and relax after a day of walking/cycling or riding. I was almost longing for more rainy weather as it was such a lovely place just to be! It was always exciting to see what moorland animals might be sheltering under the carport on our return! Our dog loved everything about this cottage too - apart from the 'scary ' screech owls which alarmed her early one morning!

July 2017

If you have a dog this is the place to stay as moor on your doorstep for walks and a fully enclosed garden. We would happily come back here again.

June 2017

Would highly recommend Moorside as a base for walks on Dartmoor and peaceful relaxation. The cottage has everything you need and the garden is very secure for dogs. We really enjoyed our stay.

This cottage was perfect if you are taking dogs with you...our two had a great time! The garden, in particular, being made sheep-proof (to keep them out), is fantastic. Superb location, great views, and immediate access to some great walks across Dartmoor....what more could you want! it was a perfect location for a relaxing time, and we will certainly be booking this property again.

Moorside is an exceptional holiday cottage; a real jewel, comfortable, roomy and well equipped. We are delighted we found it last year and can't wait to return next year. We had four friends to stay during the week and they all loved the facilities and atmosphere. The location is ideal being on the moor and the garden is peaceful and exquisite, lovely to sit out in the evening.

July 2015

A fabulous, spacious cottage for people and dogs. It's much bigger than you expect. Sheep and the odd cow came to visit and we saw many birds and one or two rabbits in the glorious garden. We all loved it.

A truly beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. I feel sure that we will want to return. Brian the owner very helpful and gave us lots of tips about the area. A perfect cottage for our three Border Collies and despite the wet weather we managed to keep the cottage clean. Very dog friendly floors!

April 2015

Moorside is a very nice place to stay. We had a wonderful time and we were sorry that we had to leave after only one week of holiday. The cottage is equipped perfectly (the owner keeps everything in a very good shape), the landscape is gorgeous. We will come back soon. Thanks for the good time we had.

May 2014

Moorside was perfect for a 3 generations holiday, 2 grandparents, parents and children. Walks from the door with easy access to major roads to visit further afield. Cottage was very comfortable, heating always perfect temperature. We enjoyed the sun trap patio and watching the birds at the feeders. We watched deer in the fields, sheep and highland cattle in the lane. Brentor church has a fantastic views of the village and moors and a walk round the village is wellworth doing, lookout for the old station house. We would definately return to Moorside.

May 2014

If you like peace and quiet this has it all. The house is a wonderful mix of old world character and modern living. The lack of "city lights" made the night sky the most interesting I've seen in a long time. Having skylights meant this could be done from the comfort of your bed. This house really has walks from the door. The dramatic Tors of Dartmoor were easy to walk or drive to which allowed more time to marvel at the dramatic scenery, rather than sitting in a car getting there.
