Appledore is a good place for eating out and a base for visiting other areas for tradtional sea side activities.

We loved Appledore and the location of the cottage was fantastic for access to all of the local cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. The Flame Factory, the Yard and the Coffee Cabin were three of our favourite places to eat.

The beds were extremely comfortable and it was great having the ensuite and separate bathroom as there were five adults in our party. Both lounge and kitchen were very spacious and well equipped. We used the courtyard quite a bit but not the garden.

So many lovely places to visit locally and we enjoyed finding different beaches - Westward Ho, Saunton Sands, Croyde etc. Ilfracombe also worth a visit but not for the beach. However, wasn't that impressed with Bideford. Clovelly is a must but be ready for lots of steep hills!

The only down side to the cottage is the parking as, in high season, it can be difficult to get a space in Appledore and it's a long way to transport your luggage on arrival and when leaving, although we did manage to find a sneaky drop off point. Obviously you get the luxury though of having no cars passing by.

All in all a wonderful holiday in a lovely cottage in a great part of the country!

Lovely cottage, well equipped. Parking in car park 5 minutes away with a good weekly rate but no option to drive to property to drop off bags. Book to visit the flame factory it is really good but busy.

We had a really lovely stay at Tydemans Cottage. It is in the heart of the village near pubs, restaurants, shops and the sea. The cottage itself is just lovely. The kitchen is really well equipped, so if you want to cook there is pretty much all you need in terms of equipment. The bedrooms are comfortable and the living area is great. The wifi is a bit patchy depending on where you are in the house and there's no mobile phone reception, but if you go out into the village you can pick up reception. We would be very happy to come back and stay at the cottage again in the future.

Beautiful decorated and comfortable cottage in a really lovely setting. The weather was fantastic, which added to the enjoyment of our break. Really good base to visit lots of sights of North Devon, including Clovelly and Croyde. Appledore has some lovely cafes and restaurants and shops to explore. Very relaxing holiday.

Tucked away in a quiet street but a couple of seconds from the seafront makes a perfect location. An immaculate cottage that's had ample space for 6 adults. High quality furnishings and equipment. Couldn't of asked for more

Beautifully furnished house to a very high standard. Well equipped kitchen making cooking meals very easy. All mod cons. Very comfortable beds. Fabulous shower. Loved staying here. Quiet location along pretty narrow streets. Had to park car in public carpark and pay for the weeks stay which was £16. No problem though and it seemed very safe left there. A nice 5 min walk along the Quay to get there. Loved getting up early and walking along the Quay and estuary. Plenty to do within a short drive. John's deli round the corner from the house is excellent! Loved Appledore and will definitely stay here again.

Appledore is a beautiful place to visit. Lovely cosy cottage. Walking distance to all amenities and the beautiful views along the estuary.

We loved Tydemans Cottage, we ate out or had a takeaway; the kitchen was only used for breakfast. The beds were super comfy. Lovely large lounge. The wi fi was a bit iffy, but it wasn't a big problem. Great location, lots of places to eat and drink, all within walking distance. There is no parking near the cottage, although we managed to park up to unload the car. The main carpark is very safe and only £16 for the week which you can pay for online in advance.

We had a fantastic family holiday here at Tydemans Cottage for the five of us. It's two small cottages knocked into one in a small narrow street at the southern end of the main town. Lovely furnishings, thick walls (you can't hear a thing), ensuite from the master, a large dining table, nice oven Range, big TV with Netflix, courtyard/garden for bit of late afternoon sunshine. So close to Johns of Appledore Deli, local pubs with decent food, fish and chips and a short walk to the fantastic Royal George gastropub. We used the house as a base for bodyboarding at Northam Burrows (10 mins by car) and Saunton Sands (35 mins). No parking here so you have to lug your kit in but then you don't get woken up by cars.

What a lovely cottage in beautiful Appledore. Great location, comfy beds & a quality feel. We had a great week, with lots of sunshine!

This was our first time in Appledore. We loved it! Beautiful setting, decent restaurants and pubs and a fabulous coffee shop (the Cabin). The cottage is just what we hoped for: comfortable, spacious and right in the thick of it. Although there is no parking (access is via a narrow walkway), we parked in the car park in Odun Rd (£16 for the week) and the cottage is a 5 minute walk. One of the biggest plus points is that the beds are super comfy. Bliss! We’d thoroughly recommend it and would definitely return. If you can, grab a meal at the Flame Factory (2 min walk away) and a trip to Clovelly is a must.

The perfect escape, everything you need for an enjoyable break. Definitely be back

Fantastic cottage in the heart of Appledore.

A lovely location and a beautiful cottage with great amenities. Felt like home from home comforts.

My husband and I enjoyed our week at Tydemans cottage very much. It is an old cottage with character and has been beautifully renovated, is very well equipped and very comfortable. The bedrooms are light and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed being in Appledore out of season, it has great charm, some touristy/craft shops and places to eat but sadly only one food shop now. The beach at Westward Ho! which you can walk to (for exercise, not carrying beach gear) from Appledore is an amazing stretch of sand. The ferry to Instow only operates in the summer.

Fabulous cottage in a very central location , easy walk to all amenities. Very good covid precautions and the cottage was clean so no worries there . Stayed in December and the cottage was lovely and warm as centrally heated and has a lovely log burner so super cosy . Beds were really comfy and it was very quiet so a good nights sleep is guaranteed. Appledore is very pretty and makes for a great base to access the rest of the beautiful Devon coast.

Cottage was perfect ,quiet and peaceful but close to restaurants ,cafe,s, shops etc ,will definately stay in one of classic cottage holidays again.

A charming cottage offering clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation. Appledore has a range of interesting shops and galleries and is well placed for exploring the surrounding area. We had a lovely holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both the cottage and location to family and friends.

A lovely cottage, very comfortable. We have already rebooked for next year

Everything added up to a relaxing, trouble free lovely break.

Recommend this cosy cottage, comfy beds, very well appointed, Close to harbour, quiet and charming. Suited us well, 4 adults and a 6 year old.

Had a weeks stay with my family at Tydeman's cottage and we loved it! Quirky, clean, tidy and modern with cute decorative touches made our stay complete. Tucked away from the Main Street/alleyways but with easy access to everything. Would certainly go back in the future ??.

We regularly stay in holiday cottages and have stayed in a great many but Tydeman's cottage is without a doubt, the loveliest cottage we've stayed in - it has everything, location, charm, fully equipped and beautifully decorated...we're just debating booking again for next year!

We love this cottage, it's so warm and cosy with everything you need just on the door step!

Fab cottage in a lovely quiet location but within easy reach of tourist attractions. The overall quality of the fixture and fittings made for a very enjoyable stay and the cottage was very clean. The welcome tray was a welcomed surprise after a long journey. Crabbing at the harbour was great fun and The Coffee Cabin has the best crab sandwich ever. It's fair to say we had a lovely family holiday and would highly recommend this cottage t anyone.

Excellent large cottage, great location.

Tydesman cottage was a real find, as a family with two young children we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, within 5 min walk you can get fresh bread from the local newsagent or a first class meal or pint of real ale from 3 of the local pubs, we have also got a new love...crab fishing off the quay the kids loved it. A very clean well furnished cottage right in the heart of appledore.

A beautiful, homely cottage in a friendly fishing village. Would definitely recommend to others.

Excellent restoration and very tasteful furnishings. As it was a week for the New year we made daily use of the log burner. Family from South East Leicestershire

Light airy and very comfortable cottage in brilliant location

Beautiful, well appointed, spacious cottage, central location, real home from home

Fantastic cottage everything we needed and lovely sun terrace and garden.

This is a beautifully furnished cottage and ideal for a family break.

Without doubt the best holiday accommodation we've ever stayed in. Well located, quiet, comfortable and beautifully furnished and equipped. The owner has paid attention to every detail. Our thanks to all concerned.

A well equipped, pleasantly decorated home.

Everything about this cottage was perfect for our weeks holiday. Thank you

Beautiful cottage in beautiful location, would recommend for families or group of friends.

What a beautiful cottage!! Decorated with style, comfortably furnished and so well equipped for us all (including a 9mth old baby) The location was really quiet, yet we were only a few steps away from the quay with shops and a good choice of restaurants. Plus the best fish and chips I've ever eaten - too good to share with the seagulls! We plan to return earlier next year and have recommended to other family and friends. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday

We have a wonderful stay!

Beautiful cottage, great venue, plenty of space.

As always, Classic Cottages convinced me by providing a first class cottage. This was the very best out of six classic cottages we had until now. Everything was absolutely perfect.Thank you.
