Wonderful property with lovely welcoming hosts, walking distance to the town but far enough out to be peaceful. We had a great holiday here!

Beautiful holiday home with everything you need in a perfect location.

This is the perfect place for a holiday. The location and view is beautiful. Josie and Mike are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We loved all the special little touches they have made, it felt like a home from home. We can’t wait to go back. You will not be disappointed if you book this property. The only thing wrong was that we had to leave??!

Very interesting history of how the cottage was saved from demolition by the owners and made into such lovely accommodation.

A place to stay for peace and quiet with lovely views with a short walk to the beach and town.

EXCEPTIONAL!

Thank you for another lovely stay Josie and Mike - everything was perfect as usual. The only down side is having to leave at the end of the holiday! See you again next year....

This is the best property that we have ever stayed in. The property surpassed our expectations with every need catered for and great attention to detail. It was lovely to meet the owner Josie who was really helpful in orientating us to the local area. Her homemade cream tea was divine. The views from the property are stunning, with close proximity to a castle, beautiful beaches and lovely walks into Falmouth.

The Old Coastguard Station is a peaceful and lovely property with unfettered views of the sea. Its owners, Josie and Mike, have thought of everything that visitors will need, and provided it. Their many and varied interests are reflected in the overall charm of the property and its contents, and we could not possibly have been made to feel more at home or personally welcome.

The games room was a big hit with our boys. They were in there all the time.

The views were spectacular and Josie and Mike were fantastic. It was the perfect stay, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough!!

We're so delighted that you had a fantastic break at The Old Coastguard Station - we hope that we can welcome you back soon so you can enjoy those breathtaking views and the owners' lovely hospitality again. Tressa, Customer Support

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cottage. Josie is a wonderful host, bringing us scones and mince pies every week. She is happy and engaging and very helpful with tips and ideas of things to do around the area. The house is very comfortable and clean, linens and towels were changed regularly. The game room is a wonderful relaxation. On sunny days having meals in the terrace, even in winter, is a delight as the view of Falmouth bay is wonderful and the cottages feels like it is surrounded by forest. There are many walks by the beach which is in front of the cottage. Jossie has left a wealth of information on the area, including a wonderfully detailed map which serves as a coffee table. The house was very nicely decorated for Christmas, with good taste and cheer.

We're sure that Josie will be delighted that you were so pleased with the weekly treats (we would have been too!) and that you were so happy with her efforts to ensure that you had a lovely stay. You paint a lovely picture of your stay and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Sarah, Customer Support

Beautiful cosy cottage. I did not want to leave.

The cottage exceeded all expectations. Fantastic view, quiet location, beautifully furnished and decorated throughout. Frankly I can't wait to go back.

The cottage is super - very cosy during a wet and windy October (we lit the log fire every night!), but it would be equally lovely in the summer with the outdoor patio with stunning sea views. The games room was great too, with table tennis, snooker and darts to play.

It's a 1 minute walk to the beach and a 10-15 minute walk to Gyllyngvase beach, or to the town centre. The owners Josie and Mike were really friendly and we enjoyed their homemade cream tea on arrival. I thoughly recommend a stay here.

Josie and Mike are so kind and welcoming, we had yet another lovely holiday in a lovely cottage. If you had 'Owners of the Month' they would deserve it every time!

We're so pleased that you enjoyed another stay at The Old Coastguard Station - we totally agree; the owners are exemplary and we're delighted to be able to offer their lovely property to our guests! Tanya, Customer Services Manager

Skilful driving required for parking. Degree of fitness needed to cope with some hilly terrain getting around on foot in the local area. However as two octogenarians with some degree of osteoarthritis we managed fine and sure we were better for the exercise. It was convenient having owners Josie & Mike living above in case we had any queries. Nice to have a socially distanced chat with Josie & get some useful local directions for walking down into Falmouth .

Thanks so much for sharing your comments - we're delighted to see that you enjoyed your stay. For guests who prefer a flatter walk, a car can be parked outside the property for near-level access (just one step) to the door, and there are some gentler routes into town and to the beaches avoiding steps and bigger hills. Tanya, Customer Services Manager

Amazing stay at a beautiful cottage. Great location and owners attention to detail is second to none. Already booked for 2021.

A lovely place to stay in an excellent location with beautiful views and friendly owners. If there was an option for half a star we would have given 4.5 stars.

A fabulously wonderful and special place. We cannot praise the cottage nor the hospitality high enough. It’s certainly very very high on the list of the loveliest places we’ve ever stayed at

A lovely welcome from Josie and Mike. Josie's cream tea was very welcome after a long drive. The property is beautifully decorated throughout, and spotlessly clean, which is important in these Covid times. Mike's homemade cider is eminently quaffable, and ideal to drink whilst sitting on the terrace watching the sun go down. We will definitely visit again. Kim and Jed Fathers

Wonderful location overlooking the bay. Very quiet. The property was exceptionally well equipped. And a mouth-watering home made Cream Tea as well. What more can you want.

Thank you for another lovely stay - see you soon!

A lovely stay and the cream tea on arrival was super and trhe log fire was alos very welcoming. Well located for easy walks into town or along the beach.

This is a wonderful place to stay - it was quiet and spotlessly clean and a good supply of logs for the open fire. If you like history this house has it all - with modern comforts.
We enjoyed our stay very much and hopefully will be back again sometime in the future.

The property is beautiful, lots of character and a wonderful sea view. The hosts are lovely, very welcoming and just lovely people. We would very much recommend this property.

We had the most fantastic stay here. Everything was perfect, the location was stunning with fabulous views and such easy access to shops, restaurants and lovely coastal walks. The hosts were great and the house was so well thought out for anything you would need during your stay. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch and they had even pre set a fire for us which meant for a lovely cosy night. Highly recommend!

Jose was the perfect host and this is an amazing cottage for a coastal retreat, whatever the weather

Thanks for a lovely stay - see you again next year!

Wonderful stay. Josie is just a fantastic owner. It was our 2nd visit and hugged on greeting again. Lots of lovely touches as lamps left on for us, fire all prepared just needed a match. Lots of extras with tea bags and milk etc. Had a lovely bottle of merlot left for us with one of her special cream teas. Really relaxing week which went far too quick.

Josie was very kind, picked us up from the train and showed us around town on the way home. Great house with lots of books and games to enjoy. Fully equipped kitchen. An extra plus for the environmentally aware owners.

Beautifully presented apartment with lovely hosts and a wonderful cream tea on arrival. Excellent location, stunning views, plenty of things to do within Falmouth.

This is an excellent place to stay, but location might be a bit difficult for the disabled, as it is very hilly

Reply from Classic Cottages

We're so pleased that you enjoyed your time in Falmouth. The area is a little hilly in places (all the better for seeing the ships out on the horizon!) but if hills are a bit of a challenge, you can leave your car in the private space immediately outside The Old Coastguard Station, and the town centre is just a few moments' drive, with several car parks to choose from and good access to the train and bus stations. Tanya, Customer Support

Third visit - what more is there to say! Lovely location, very comfortable, very friendly hosts. Would recommend to anyone.

A very comfortable cottage , lovely views , great location . Lovely owners in Josie and Mike.

Josie and Mike are a lovely couple who made us very welcome and we felt we were leaving old friends when we left to go home. Josie has great flair for making soft furnishings and the apartment is very attractively decorated and presented with fresh flowers in every room. We hope to return again some time.

An excellent cottage in a great location.

Josie and Mike were excellent hosts. We were there for Christmas and the apartment was beautifully decorated with Josie's fabulous cream tea to welcome us. The apartment was spotless, in excellent condition and superbly equipped. There was plenty provided (unlike a number of self-catering places we have stayed in) and the views were wonderful. Although on the isthmus, you can walk into Falmouth quite easily and Pendennis castle is just down the road.
It is so beautifully cared for that we felt privileged to be able to stay there.

Such a beautiful place to stay in Falmouth. It was our first time visiting and we were blown away by not only the place, but Josie and her kindness and enthusiasm. We can't wait until we visit again!

Stunning views

This property is fantastic especially it's location and views. The owners, Josie and Mike are lovely and were perfect host's. Thank you for a perfect week in a very special place.

An overall outstanding place!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely historic property. The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome and the cream tea on our arrival was much appreciated. The location is fantastic and I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

Our second visit, and would love to go again. Fabulous views, very comfortable and lovely owners who cannot do enough for you. Full of quirky seaside touches that make you feel you are on holiday and not just in a furnished flat somewhere.

Fantastic location for Falmouth town & beaches, as well as further afield. Wonderful views & very clean, comfortable accommodation. And a homemade cream tea on arrival too!

A perfect apartment in a perfect location

The cottage was lovely and the more than lived up to our expectations. It provided everything we needed and more. The location was fantastic and we didn't move our car from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We would definitely return.

This property is unique and we loved the location and history of the place. We have stayed in Falmouth numerous times in the past and this was probably the nicest property we have experienced. The owners were just charming and the attention to detail and cleanliness of the apartment were impressive. We shall be back!

It was a great pleasure to stay at this cottage. The view from the living room and terrace is awesome, the interior of the cottage is very cosy and practicable. We also loved the games room which avoids any boredom of the kids independent of the weather. Many attractions like the castle, the beaches, restaurants, museums and the old town center of Falmouth are within walking distance. Moreover, Falmouth is a good starting point to explore Cornwall. The landlords are very genial, make you feeling like home, and provide an outstanding service. This cottage is a place to be !

Josie and Mike were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. While staying there we discovered my wife's grandmother lived in the property as a child. Josie was thrilled by this discovery and showed us all the material she had acquired on the building's history. Beyond this special personal connection to the place, we also found the Old Coastguard Station the most comfortable, best appointed, and most imaginatively and sympathetically restored holiday place we have ever stayed in. This is a very special place indeed in a beautiful location, run by exceptionally kind and helpful people.

Thank you so much for sharing your story - what a wonderful coincidence! We're delighted that you enjoyed your time in this lovely spot and that Josie's meticulous historical research gave you a clear connection with your wife's family. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Tanya, Customer Support

Thanks for a lovely welcome and a fantastic stay - see you again soon!

Lovely warm and cosy cottage , great view and well placed for the town . Excellent hosting as usual from Josie.

Me and my fiancé live in Germany and booked in January. We had such a wonderful holiday in this quiet warm and cosy Apartment. Josie and Mike were very warm and welcoming and provided us with a cream tea when we arrived. The fire was made up and Mike provided plenty of dry timber to keep us warm. The apartment is wonderful, centrally heated and with every wish catered for, I especially liked the coffee table with a map of Cornwall built in so you can see where you have been. The location is stunning with views out across the bay, steps lead down to the promenade and beach, and the town is just round the corner with plenty of restaurants and cafe’s which were all still open at this time of year. The headland also just around the corner affords wonderful views out over the estuary and the magnificent Pendinnis Castle is just up the hill. Also the sports centre with pool is just up the hill. One couldn’t want for a more perfect place to enjoy Cornwall in all seasons. We will definitely come back. Dave and Susann

Superb location, everything on the doorstep with fantastic scenery and peace and quiet. The apartment was sympathetically restored and to a high standard; well done to the owners on saving it from demolition and saving the areas history. The homemade cream tea on our arrival was wonderful with my hubby's added bonus that when Josie, the owner, found out it was his 60th birthday, 2 minutes later he had a bottle of wine and birthday card on the doorstep!! Certainly a most enjoyable break and we will definitely back to sample more, thank you Josie and Mike!!

This cottage is in an amazing location with great views over Falmouth bay Inside it is cosy and tastefully decorated Very comfortable and warm but with great outdoor spaces and games room Lovely hosts 2nd visit more planned

Beautiful cottage with a lot of care taken over the furnishings and equipment. In a lovely quiet location in Falmouth with views over the sea.

Josie came out to greet us and gave us a lovely warm welcome. She showed us all around the cottage and had made us a wonderful cream tea. We had logs for a fire which we lit a couple of nights during the week. There was nothing Josie hadn't thought of and we will definitely stay there again - the view was priceless.

Great location within Falmouth, Immaculately presented, Great games room, Fantastic views and good parking.

Brilliant location, delightful views, great hosts (owners) who supply an amazing cream tea to welcome us. This is our second visit and would love to return.

Fantastic place to stay. Lots of stylish quirky features, and a great location. The owners were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. My favourite Classic Cottage so far.

Wonderful views from apartment. very friendly and welcoming owner.

Location and view over the bay is really wonderfull and the owners are a very nice couple. Everything was perfect and with sense to serail. Loved the stay. Falmouth in itself is a lovely place to stay, easy access to anything you need and look for.

This was our second visit. We very much looked forward to returning, and it didn't disappoint!

The open fire was absolutely lovely - we lit it each evening and felt extra cosy. The views from the house are excellent whatever the weather, and the house's position is ideal, a little outside the main town of Falmouth so that you don't feel at all crowded, but close enough to wander in to the centre of the town. Josie has done a wonderful job at the Old Coastguard Station and was a warm and friendly host.

Friendly welcome, stunning location and great house. Joesie has created a lovely home in a stunning location and using it was an honour!

It was beautiful and there was great views of the sea. The apartment was very well equipped and the owners were very friendly and nice ! Gladly again!

Very friendly and helpful owner. Wonderful view on the sea when sitting on the sofa in the living-room.

Another fantastic holiday at The Old Coastguard Station! Thanks again for the lovely welcome, we couldn't wish for a better holiday.

We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage with a superb sea view and lovely hosts. We had a lovely relaxing holiday!

Service excellent, property lovely, a view to die for, and a litte bit of history from a very friendly Owner.

'Location, Location, Location' - absolutely wonderful

Fabulous view across the bay from the patio area. Cream tea was delicious and fresh flowers in rooms was a special touch. The owner, Josie, made us very welcome on arrival and told us about the historical background to this special house. Thoroughly recommend this property.

Very cosy and comfortable, great view and lovely owners in Josie and Mike.

Wonderful situation overlooking Falmouth Bay. So easy to walk down to the beach. Beautifully maintained and all you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Couldn't be better.

Excellent! This apartment is everything & more.

A perfect Flat in great location. Stunning views from the Living Room and front bedroom. Beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The owners Josie and Mike live above and are so helpful and friendly. Loved everything about this place. We had a wonderful holiday. The short walk to Pendennis Point and castle is worth doing for fantastic views. The Princess Pavillion a short walk away also hosts some great shows and music concerts.

A real gem of a place. Great location, comfortable and nicely decorated accommodation and well equipped. Reluctant to say how much we liked the cottage in case too many want to book it up and prevent us staying again!!

we will come again, best booking ever

The old coastguard station house is a delight. My husband and 2 girls stayed for a week and it was fantastic. Josie and Mike are very welcoming and Josie's cream tea was fantastic on arrival. You have everything you need in the house. She has thought of everything! We all loved the spectacular views from where we were and the convenience of Pendennis Castle just up the road. The leisure centre was a short five minute walk on a rainy day and in the other direction wonderful Falmouth harbour and shops and beaches. I would definitely recommend this to others as Josie and Mike have brought back a piece of history in their restoration of the old coastguard station house. Hope to visit again soon. We were very happy with our choice. Thank you

What a wonderful place, location fantastic. Weather very kind to us which only made things more specialo. Wonderful warm welcome, lovely cream tea produced by lovely lady Josie. Had small hiccuo with heating. Sorted out immediately. Thank you.

This is our second visit and it really is an exceptional cottage. Wonderfully friendly owners, superb location, a really special place. Will be back in two years for definite!

Another excellent holiday spent at The Old Coastguard Station. With a great welcome, beautiful accommodation and superb location, who could ask for more? Thank you Josie and Mike.

This is our 3rd year staying at the Coastguard Station and we are already planning to come back again. It is a wonderful place to stay and relax. The morning views from the living room, rain or shine across the bay are great.
The location is perfect - easy to walk into town or down to the beach which is on the doorstep. Josie always makes us very welcome.

As I said above, it is in a wonderful location, as far as we are concerned it couldn't be better. The flat is beautifully decorated and furnished and you certainly feel you are by the sea, even without the view! Love the history of the building and Josie and Mike are always helpful.

Probably the best place we have stayed in Cornwall - amazing location and very very lovely owner. We have already decided we would love to pay a return visit.

A charming and unique property.

The accommodation was immaculate, everything in the kitchen beautifully organised and clean.

The quality and style of the decor was excellent, as was the view and location.

We were impressed by beautiful cream tea, flowers in every room and a very warm welcome from Josie and Mike. They could not have been more helpful.

Beautiful place to stay, views amazing, lovely welcome what more could you want!

this is a lovely cottage. bright, light and spacious. charming, stylish....immaculate. great location...quiet, but very close (walking distance) to town and beaches. superbly equipped. exceptionally pleasant master bedroom. loved the "wet weather" games room tho had such perfect weather that we didn´t use once. good parking. very helpful and friendly hosts. highly recommended...would book again for next visit in this area.

We came to stay at the Old Coastguard Station when we visited Falmouth for our daughter's graduation. The property was well equipped, in a stunning location overlooking the sea and was tastefully furnished and a very comfortable place to stay. It was a real home from home and the owners Josie and Mike were both very helpful and welcoming and greeted us with a homemade Cornish cream tea which was delicious. There were lots of other extra things in the apartment like fresh cut flowers in all the rooms, plenty of logs for the fire, a barbecue for guests to use and the addition of the Games Room to play table tennis in overlooking the sea. If ever we come back to Falmouth we would love to stay here again and will recommend it to family and friends as a wonderful place to stay.

Fantastic Location, Beautiful Place and an amazing Sea view.

Very friendly owners. Great homemade cream tea as arrival. Marvellous equipment in kitchen and other rooms, really all You can need in holidays is at hand. Cosy and romantic hours at the open fireplace. Lots of fun in the game room. Nice sitting on the terrace watching sunset over the see. A few steps down and You can start swimming. Many thanks to Josy and Mike, we liked it much.

This accommodation has been beautifully restored and has some lovely personal touches - having fresh cut flowers in all rooms and a lovely cream tea on arrival:) It is a real home from home and the views are superb. When holidaying in this area again this is the place we'd want to stay. Would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

The Old Coastguards Cottage has a superb location offering beaches and sea views. Fresh flowers, Josie's Cream Tea and open fire really seal this property as the best for the Falmouth area. A huge thank you to Josie and Mike for their welcome and attention to detail. See you next year. Many Thanks The Quinn family.

Property is great and the welcome is lovely. The owner ensures you get the best from the area and the accommodation. Highly recommended property with wonderful views and easy access to Falmouth.

We had a wonderful two weeks' stay. Sadly the weather was not warm or dry enough to sit out on the terrace, but we were able to enjoy the lovely log fire and could still see the stunning views from the sitting room. We were made to feel very welcome by Josie and her wonderful cream tea! She and Mike were available to help or give advice if needed throughout our stay, but they never intruded on our privacy. The flat is beautifully furnished and as my dad was a Coastguard for 35 years, it was lovely to have that connection and hear about it's past history. We have no hesitation in recommending The Old Coastguard Cottage and will definitely be returning.

The Old Coastguard Station is just lovely. It gave us a homely feel as soon as we entered the hallway. The owners Josie and Mike are very kind, helpful and attentive, they even lit the fire in the fireplace for us on arrival! All rooms have been tastefully furnished and decorated. The game room is an additional great feature! We would definitely recommend this cottage and we are thinking about coming back at some point in the future. Excellent location with great sea views as well. We stayed there during a period of very stormy weather, though we did not mind this as it gives you a taste of "real" Cornish winter storms and watching the large waves down in the bay while listening to the howling winds outside was quite impressive. Shops and beaches are just a short walk away, ideal if you do not have a car!

This is a truly wonderful place to stay. If you enjoy a stunning sea view, you should try to stay here. We loved sitting on the patio just gazing out to sea and watching the birds showing off their amazing flying skills. There is a swimming pool in walking distance and the sea front and is only minutes away, so it's great for youngsters. Josie and Mike are also adding a games room which will be brilliant. The Old Coastguard Cottage has been very tastefully decorated and equipped. The sense of living in a building with history very strong and we were fascinated to learn more about it. We are keen on observing bird life - during our stay in the area we saw kestrels, sparrowhawks, buzzards and on one occasion, a peregrine falcon! On the beach we saw all the usual gulls (including the marvellous black backed gull), oystercatchers, cormorants and an egret. Thank you Josie and Mike for making our stay so enjoyable. Julia, Terry and Mark Holder (October 2013)

Going to Coastguard Station is like coming home. The flat, the seaview - and at least - the owner! Josie and Mike were so friendly and made everything to feel comfortable. Thanks a lot!!

This place is immaculate and beautifully decorated with exceptional taste. Kitchen and shower/bathroom are very modern and spotless. The owner is lovely and very helpful. It's location is superb, a stones throw away from Falmouth town centre/marina and for the beach just follow the steps down... I can highly recommend this property to any one who dreams of living by the seaside.

The Old Coastguard Station was excellent in all respects. We had a wonderful restful time. The owner was extremely helpful and the views were excellent. Would happily recommend this place to others.

We have stayed in a lovely place, with a stunning view. The house is wonderfully furnished. The owners are really lovely people, having good suggestions, and very willing to make our stay to a wonderful time.

We absolutely loved The Old Coastguard Station. It was a home from home. Beautiful sea views and friendly owners.

Stay here, its wonderful! I will definitely recommend it! A quality property with a wonderful view. You wont want to go home!

A fantastic stay, the property was beautiful in a exellent location. Picturess coastal walks and easy access to Falmouth.
