A charming old thatched cottage with pleasant gardens, away from the crowds but ideally situated for visiting both coasts and The Lizard Peninsular. The cottage is clean, well equipped and has a peaceful feel. We enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the cottage's position to cycle some of the many bike trails in the area.

There was a leak in the fireplace, the cables of the electric stove lying in a paddle of water and the walls in the dining room wet to the touch, with big wet stains. We reported this problem to the owners, but they said there is nothing they can do. The garden was also overgrown and not well looked after.

We're so sorry to hear that this property wasn't quite what you were looking for. Just to reassure you, the owners checked the cottage on the day of your departure and could find no evidence of a leak or damp but will of course keep an eye on this. As the cottage is several hundred years old, there isn't a modern damp proof course, so a positive pressure ventilation system has been installed to silently pump in air from outside 24 hours a day which keeps the cottage well ventilated. In summer humid moist air can condense on the cooler granite fireplace - this is completely normal and nothing that will indicate an issue, but thanks for letting us know. The garden is more of a relaxed cottage style and the warm weather has encouraged growth - the gardener did pay a visit two days before your arrival to cut the grass and trim back the bushes. His regular visits should keep this in check. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. Tressa, Customer Support

Classic cornish country house, equiped with charm, tranquility and all the accessories, without the chintz. Easy to access the rest of Cornwall but still offering a little quiet hub to hide away in. Perfectly equipped for children and small families (we were a three, with a three nearly four year old). Able to enjoy eating outdoors in two locations in the garden, plus a bbq at the bottom of the garden! Loved every second of our week stay, beach hopping, visiting NT gardens, and going on river walks!

Beautiful cottage with lots of character, garden really nice and lots of private space with lovely views. Cottage ws very well equipped with everything you need and of good quality. it felt like a home.

The cottage is delightful and in a very peaceful location yet within easy reach of lots of lovely places. A real home from home with everything that you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. With the Covid-19 issue this year we had been reluctant to have a break away (we live in Devon so have experienced holidaymakers visiting our area) but the cottage was beautifully clean and we felt all measures had been taken within the cottage and in Cornwall generally. Thank you all.

Very comfortable and well appointed house. Great location and suits those looking for peace and quiet as well as exploring south west Cornwall.

A great choice for families as the cottage has a delightful, safe garden in a rural setting where children can play, yet very near to super beaches and interesting places to visit.

This is a lovely cottage in an excellent location to explore Cornwall. We enjoyed the long private garden and slept well in the extremely comfortable beds.

Pleasant stay in a very cozy thatched Cornish cottage. We'll most certainly book again. Great price for so many extras.

Hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The welcome pack is very welcoming, thank you. Beautiful cottage inside and out. We found it to be a perfect location for exploring this part of Cornwall.

The location of the cottage was very private and peaceful and there was plenty of parking space for our car. Welcome pack was much appreciated, especially after a long and tiring drive. The kitchen was well equipped and we very much liked the dining room with its country pine furniture. The beds were very comfortable and it was wonderfully quiet at night! The surrounding garden was a delight with an abundance of flowers and wonderful views across the adjacent fields.

I would recommend this cottage to anybody who is looking for a quiet and cosy retreat in the countryside. Well kept, very clean and equipped with everything one needs for a careless holiday. Wonderful garden as well, with two nice places to sit an enjoy a book or a rose lemonade. The hosts did everything to make our stay as nice as possible. They spoilt us with goodies. My travel companion was not well on the day of departure, and they were so very kind to let us stay for some hours, so she could get a rest. Thank you again! The location of the cottage is also very good, many iconic places are within easy reach, and even Heligan was accessible within 90 minutes. I would definitely say that this belongs to the best cottages we have been so far!

We had a lovely week long stay with our two young girls. The location was a great central base for discovering what Cornwall has to offer. Hosts were the best. Thank you!

A fantastic cottage in a good location for exploring Cornwall and so peaceful and everything you need would stay again. :)

We had a lovely week in this clean, cosy and very well equipped cottage, which is perfected located for explorations of both the Lizard and Land's End peninsulas. Highly recommended!

The cottage is well located for everything and well equipped. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. We would definitely return and would recommend staying here without hesitation!

Perfect retreat!

Without doubt the best cottage we have ever rented in the UK and a pleasure to deal with Classic Cottages.

This cottage is lovely and finished to a very good standard . The bed was very comfortable and had lovely country views. It wasn't quite the right weather to enjoy the garden but would have enjoyed sitting outside on sunny day. It's a good location, quiet and peaceful. The welcome pack was very generous. Hosts respect your privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location. Hospitality excellent when we arrived. Also its all listed on the website what is in the cottage. No need to worry about bringing those extras for example, bin bags, washing liquid, the list is long!

Beautiful garden and it was a pleasure to sit and watch the wildlife when the weather wasn't so good. Log-burner was also very welcome as was the welcome pack that was there at our arrival. Nice touch!

Perfect for a get away from it all holiday .

The cottage was quaint and beautifully looked after. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the décor was tasteful and homely. A lovely welcome basket was waiting on our arrival- a lovely and much appreciated welcoming gesture after a long car journey! The owners were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The location was absolutely perfect- everywhere we wanted to go was within half an hours drive. The pictures really do not do this property justice- it was bigger than expected from the photographs and the description of 'steep' stairs was not true at all- the stairs were absolutely fine for our 3 and 4 year old! we will definitely be returning :-)

We enjoyed our breakfast in the lovely garden, swimming in the sea, hikes on the beautiful shores, trips to Porthleven, St Ives, the Lanhydrock House and to Geevor Tin Mine.

Lovely welcome from the hosts when we arrived. Lovel relaxing stay, just sitting in the beautiful garden was bliss, a million miles from the hum drum of work. The cottage had everthing you could possibly need and more. If or when we return to Cornwall we WILL be staying here again, thanks for a lovely holiday. Mel, Maz and Naomi

Wonderful cottage in ideal location . It was the "little extras and personal touch "that made our holiday complete

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful setting and welcoming owners make for the perfect holiday. Would love to come back and will certainly be recommending to our family and friends

Beautiful characterful cottage, very helpful owners. Quiet location. Very impressed.

Wonderful cosy cottage ideally situated to visit Cornish coast and countryside. Exceptionally clean and well presented. Friendly pub within walking distance with v large portions of food. Our second visit here

This was our second time staying at this cottage, and it has started to feel like home from home. Quaint and comfy, and tastefully decorated and furnished. The garden and views are wonderful, waking up to the views out of the little windows of the bedroom overlooking daffodil fields warms the soul. We love this property and would thoroughly recommend it.

Highly recommended.

Beautiful location, wonderful garden, and truly felt like you were in the middle of nowhere whilst being a stone's throw away from the main road to Helston. It was a delight to stay here, the bedrooms were of a good size, and well furnished, kitchen didn't leave us wanting. The dining room was inviting and the living room comfortable. This cottage is cozy, well kept, and has everything you could ask for, especially the beautiful garden with outdoor seating overlooking miles of fields.

We were very happy here and would highly recommend it!

We have found the accommodation almost more beautiful in real life than in the photos. The house is wonderfully cozy. The owners are very welcoming and made us very welcome. The region is very interesting, especially the coastal paths which offered particularly impressive views to our long walks. The small towns have a lot of charm. Thus we had a very nice holiday, which will remain with us for a long time.

Lovely cottage, with everything you need, a sweet garden and great location for south and north coast beaches and st ives.

Lovely characterful cottage in extremely peaceful location, conveniently placed for all of Cornwall's far south west.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location but close enough for site seeing.

Fantastic location and friendly welcome by owners. The beautiful garden was a delight. Very well equipped, nice decor, warm and cosy, private parking and very quiet. We have already recommended cottage to friends! Thank You

A charming cottage, the relaxed, quiet environment allowed for a wonderful peaceful short stay. From the start the welcome was outstanding. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from it all for a few days. Excellent.

Fantastic cottage in a great location. We had a perfect Easter break there! We have a three year old and the size of the cottage was ideal and having a lovely garden was a bonus! Please don't be put off by the description of the stairs as steep as we didn't find them a problem at all. Owners were great and a lovely welcome pack was provided. We have visited family in this area for the last 20 years and this is definately one of the best place we have stayed.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended. Great hosts who go out of their way to make you welcome. Excellent facilities. Fab location. What more could you ask for!

This cottage is just lovely. Cleanliness was excellent, and owners very welcoming. Good level of equipment. Gardens were lovely and ideal for family. Location is good for getting to the Lizard and also North Coasts and St Ives.

The cottage was beautifully decorated and contained everything we needed. We received a warm welcome from the owners of the cottages who were really helpful. The welcome pack we received on our arrival was very thoughtful and much appreciated after a long drive.- much better than in any other cottage we have stayed at. The cottage is in a good location with loads to see and do nearby.

Superbly appointed cottage in an idyllic location. Set back off B road down private lane the cottage has its own access and gardens. Inside it is spacious, yet still quirky and finished to a very high standard by owners who obviously care you enjoy your stay.

Would highly recommend.

With our two kids of 7 and 10 years old we had a very pleasant and calm stay in this beautiful cottage with a very well equipped kitchen. The living room is a bit smaller than it looks on the pictures but the dining room is spacious indeed.

Are you unsure if this looks right for you? It looks great in the pictures right? Well I can tell you that not only is it better in real life but the cleanliness and finish are top of the range. Its probably the best place I have rented for a holiday ever. You won't be disappointed !!

We highly recommend choosing Higher Prospidnick Cottage, it is ideally located to get to both north and south coasts and all the wonders on offer. The property is divine, tastefully decorated and furnished with every accoutrement that you could hope for. The owners have made this a real home from home. The exterior of the cottage is equally charming with plenty of spaces to sit and relax, and lots of planting that will be gorgeous in season.
