Mrs Brain June 2025

Comfortable and well equipped holiday home in an idyllic location, amazing views from the living room out to sea and of Burgh Island. Loved sitting of an evening with the doors open just looking out to sea. Would definitely book again.

An amazing house in a fantastic position, the views were to die for! We felt some things needed attention especially the garden, which we didn't feel was safe for small children as it was on a slope and some steps were steep. The second bedroom had a very dirty carpet and no drawer space. The house needed some love! Bigbury is very isolated , no shop or pub and over a four mile drive down some hair raising lanes! but the beach is amazing....

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on Spring Tide. ** UPDATE** The house changed hands in early 2025 and has now been given the care and attention it deserves. The new owners have replaced the wobbly step in the garden and made it less steep. They have 3 children themselves and use the garden happily, without any concerns. Children of all ages and babies are now welcome. A highchair, travel cot and changing mats are all available at the property. All carpets have been professionally cleaned. Bigbury on Sea has all the advantages of being a beautiful seaside village without being cut off from the facilities. The closest pub is only 500m away by foot, on Burgh Island, whilst the Venus cafe is even closer. Apart from superb sea views, the cafe offers a wide choice of great quality food, much of which is free range and organic. If you fancy traditional fish and chips, you need only make the 10 minute walk to Fryer Tuck, in the neighouring resort of Challaborough, where there is also a small convenience store. At the other end of the spectrum, the Burgh Island hotel caters for fine dining and special events. Julie, Customer Support ...

A lovely property, but in need of a little tlc. Great views, easy access to some lovely beaches, plenty of walks around the coastal paths, a stroll across the causeway to Burgh Island or you can use the sea-tractor. Bigbury-on-Sea lacks any general stores so bring toilet rolls {only one supplied per bathroom} & towels as only one set per guest provided....

We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you sharing your helpful thoughts and suggestions - the coastal walks really are stunning! In all our properties two toilet rolls should be provided per bathroom and one bath towel and one hand towel per person. We've followed this up with the housekeeping team so thanks for letting us know. We'd love to see you again soon. Julie, Customer Support...

Springtime is an outstanding modern and well appointed property. It enjoys a wonderful location with extensive views over Burgh Island. Places of interest to visit include Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Totnes as well as many lovely beaches in the vicinity. Excellent attention to detail makes Springtide a fabulous holiday home from home....
