Mrs Hooker September 2017
We really enjoyed our stay at the pretty little Ostler's Cottage. It was spacious for two people and had everything you need for a relaxing break. The bed was so so comfortable! The lake and gardens were stunning, lovely to have a little walk to wind down after a busy day exploring as it is so peaceful. The owner was really friendly even after been disturbed at 11:30 p.m. one night as we had temporarily misplaced the key to the cottage. A perfect getaway for couples (and babies too).

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. The owner John and Ann Russell, were very nice people there if needed but not intrusive. We would definately return.

A pleasant relaxing spot .. very quiet and tranquil.
Mr Williams May 2016
The most tranquil, restful and peaceful place I have ever stayed at. Location beautiful from any angle inside and out. Every thing you would ever need is supplied by the owners, we found nothing we may have needed missing. Lemon drizzle cake and fresh flowers on arrival such a nice touch too. The pictures are close but do not do the cottage or its grounds justice, it really is a truly magical place for those seeking true solitude and an escape from the pressures of every day life.

We have recently returned from a weeks stay at Ostlers Cottage. We would thouroughly recommend this property. Lovely cottage in lovely surroundings with own lake. Clean, comfortable and cosy with lots of touches you wouldn't expect in a holiday let. Would definately return.
Mrs Lee June 2015

Mr Veness September 2014
A week in this delightful hideaway just wasn't long enough! Its very well equipped, has an enormous and comfortable bed, a secluded courtyard garden and a lake for sailing my model boats with a skiff to recover them from the reeds! The friendly and helpful owners live next door but do not intrude on your privacy. The location, midway between the north coast and Dartmoor, is convenient (20-25 mins to reach either) and Halwill Junction has a useful general store. There is a long and bumpy drive to reach the property but that only serves to create the seclusion, The silence is golden. There are several local walks within short drives of the cottage. The only duty you will have during your stay is to close the garden gate in the evenings to stop the Deer eating the flowers! So we shall certainly be back, but for 2 weeks next time.
