The Old Dairy is a beautiful detached barn conversion, in an utterly tranquil setting on the edge of an orchard.
Inside this cottage is a delight. Beautifully presented to the highest standard, light and airy, very comfortable and equipped as a home-from-home.
The cottage is single-storey and has accessible access to the front and the rear.
Cooking up a treat in this extremely well-equipped kitchen, with a view across the back of the original farmstead.
This is the perfect place to simply sit back, and feel the calmness all around.
Little paths are cut through the orchard in the summertime, leading you to wonderful places to sit and take in the surroundings! In the spring, the trees are thick with blossom.
The living-area has two lovely deep sofas and French windows out to the patio and garden.
The dining-table is set in one corner of this spacious, high ceiling, open plan room.
You can take your time over lovely holiday suppers, with none of life's usual rush.
This is a view from the top of the orchard, looking back at the cottage to the right, and the owner's historic house to the left.
Perhaps you will be inspired by the owner's prize winning, homemade cream tea - a fabulous treat when you arrive!
This is the master bedroom at one end of the cottage.
You can lie in bed and look out into the orchard, having the French doors wide open to listen to the morning bird song.
Another view of this lovely bedroom.
The en suite for the master bedroom has a bath and a fitted shower. There is also a door to the living-room, giving extra flexibility for a family.
Another view of the bathroom to show how spacious it is.
At the other end of the cottage is the twin bedroom. This also has French doors out to the garden.
The twin bedroom has a walk-in shower with just a small lip to the tray.
If you stay in the spring and early summer, you will be treated to an amazing display of blossom.
In the late summer and autumn, the orchard bares fruit and you will see all the apples!
With the patio at the back of the cottage, you will have complete privacy.
The orchard is just above the cottage and you have some lovely views right over the property to the countryside beyond.

We loved this cottage so much. It was clean, comfortable, had everything you needed. The garden is awesome. My heart made a little jump every time we came 'home' from exploring Devon and Dorset surroundings, thanks to the owners who made this a really nice place to stay in.

October 2018

A great cottage with a pleasant and helpful owner. Local views and villages are beautiful.

May 2018

The Old Dairy is a true delight and a real "get away from it all" type of cottage. If you are somebody that cannot live without constantly being on your phone or connected to Wi-Fi then this is not for you! It was an absolute delight being uncontactable as it allows you to really enjoy the benefits of this lovely cottage - namely the peace and quiet and the lovely views, absolute bliss.

The cottage is very well equipped and has lovely comfy beds and soft towels and a delightful cream tea waiting for you on arrival. Judith and David even put some lovely flowers from their garden in the cottage. The garden is very private with lots of different places to sit and enjoy the views.

Mum and I had a wonderful week and cannot recommend The Old Dairy highly enough

March 2018

We loved our stay at The Old Dairy. An immediate feeling of warmth and comfort as we entered and we just knew we were going to enjoy our short break. And we did! We will most certainly be back. Many thanks. Wendy-Ann and Jamie Cowie-Shaw

Lovely owners, the cottage was furnished to a very high standard with everything thought about and provided and excellent attention to detail.

All cleaning products and loo rolls were there and there were lots of tea towels, something that a lot of places forget.

It was the best and most comfortable cottage we have stayed in. The cream tea that was left for us was such a lovely touch as was the milk in the fridge and the biscuits.

We couldn't have been more comfortable. The gardens were a delight to sit in and for the 2 year old to run around in.

July 2016

This was one of the best Cottages we rent the last years. The Equipment was extraordinary, everything worked fine. It is a very calm Location, and the sound of nature ist gorgious. The owners are very friendly, they are very helpfully. We would recommend this property to all our friends.

July 2016

Very clean, light and airy cottage. If your looking for a guilt and relaxing Holiday. Lots to do around the area. However you do need your own transport.

February 2016

Although only there for a short stay David and Judith were very welcoming and helpful.

August 2015

Top class accommodation, hidden away in the most peaceful and pretty corner of countryside.

September 2014

We were made to feel very special from the minute we arrived until we left - the premises are very comfortable, clean and well looked after. The location is so peaceful - starting with the morning visits from the pheasants, grouse, bunnies and numerous birds to the evening visits from Honey.

April 2014

Very good service. Our 5th stay, and always excellent. In all respects an excellent place for a quiet break.

September 2013

A very high standard of accommodation. Peaceful area with very enjoyable walks. Short drives from many places in Devon. The hosts are excellent.
