Fabulous, spacious holiday let with great views and with absolutely everything you could possibly need.

Helpful owners on site. Well fenced garden great for dog and fields to walk in.

Very comfortable beds and garden seating.

Highly recommended.

Great base to explore the coast and inland attractions. If you're a National Trust member, Lanhydrock is very nearby and the house contains many of the original owner's furnishings and artefacts. All set in superb gardens. A bit further afield (near St Austell) The Eden Project is stunning. We spent over 4 hours there and still didn't see it all! Beaches are obviously a matter of your own preferences but for a taste of "original Cornwall," the fishing village of Mevagissey is well worth a visit. Fresh fish eateries right on the harbour. And at the end of any day, The Three Crowns in Lanlivery is a really welcoming pub. As for Buny Whey - we'd be very happy to return and stay again.

A fabulous property in a lovely location . Possibly the best property we have stayed in in terms of equipment provided, lots of thought has gone into little things you may need. Nice and clean and well maintained. Owners lovely and very near if any problems. Would definitely recommend. We visited lots of lovely places during our stay. Local farm shop at the Distillery was a bonus :)

Lovely and quiet cottage. Well equipped and very comfortable. Great location with walks right on the doorstep. Loved our stay, will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic family holiday at Buny Whey. The cottage was perfect with everything we needed and a perfect location for visiting all of our favourite Cornish beauty spots.

We will back!

Our week’s stay at Buny Whey held many positives. The owners were very friendly and unobtrusive. And I love that Buny Whey is named after a line in the Stargate (movie). The location is amazing. So easy to reach areas such as Fowey, Par sands, Bodmin, Respryn (which is beautiful). Cardinham Woods; well worth a visit. The garden is divine. The birdsong beautiful. Views were very scenic. Shame the bellringers aren’t very good ;-) (I used to be a bellringer a long time ago!). The kitchen is well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. But with regard to the rest accommodation, there were a few problems that we experienced. The television is definitely on the wrong wall. The position of it makes it hard to watch. The bath does not receive hot water. Lukewarm at best. It doesn’t matter how long you run it for. So we couldn’t have a bath. The footpath leading down to Lanlivery pub (The Crown Inn) was so overgrown, it was impossible to walk it if you so desired. The table in the kitchen area is a high table and you felt like a child sat at it! It is too high. So was the table outside. But the lawn chairs were very relaxing to while away the time. The shower was such that you had to get in it to alter it, which may not be conducive to anyone not wishing to get sprayed with cold/hot water! The sinks are square, so water does not easily drain to the plug. I couldn’t find a hoover to clean up. Nor bleach. There was a strange lack of windows in one of the bedrooms and a window that doesn’t open in the living area. In fact, the entire design of the barn is not one that has utilized space effectively. The towels were like sandpaper. Rough (so bring your own soft ones). The road where the barn is nestled is actually quite busy if you are looking for serenity. Tractors, cars, cats (there is a cattery there). We still had a lovely time and our dog was very happy too.

A lovely cottage in a very peaceful location with stunning countryside view, ideal for a relaxing break. Easy access to surrounding towns like Fowey and Messagissy. Loved the local Farm shops. I would definately go again.

Can't fault the views, cottage very comfortable, nice that we can bring our dog who is a member of our family and the garden was very secure.

We have booked this cottage a few times . The location and views are perfect for a relaxing and peaceful holiday . The owners are always welcoming and helpful. We walk the dog on Par beach and enjoy Fowey. Good location for exploring Cornwall.

Our 4th visit here and the barn was as immaculately clean as always. The views across the beautiful garden to the church are wonderful and it is a lovely place to return to after being out and about. The weather was mixed for our stay, but the barn was always comfortably warm. As always, Alex and Steve were perfect hosts. We had a great time!

Nice little cottage but lacking in the added extras and welcoming touches I've experienced in other cottages which would have made our stay a bit more comfortable. Friendly owners who made themselves available but gave us space and privacy. Lots of niggly issues in the cottage but not enough to ruin the stay and ended up adding to the "rustic" charm.

Great relaxing break in a lovely cottage

Would highly recommend staying here. Very quiet and tranquil location, with stunning views. House is really comfortable and owners are really nice and helpful

Picturesque location, close to Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Traditional Property which was lovely and warm at all times with underfloor heating.

The place is just beautiful and so much more spacious in reality. The kitchen was very well equipped and the garden was an absolute bonus for the kids. The furnishings were lovely and location spot on.

This is a lovely comfortable barn conversion in a peaceful rural location, but within a short drive of the coast. It is one of the best-equipped cottages we have stayed in and has a large enclosed lawn area which our dog loved. The local town of Lostwithiel is well worth a visit (or two) and Bodmin is just a short drive away for larger supermarkets, as is the National Trust property Lanhydrock.

We have looked to book this cottage for several years so were delighted when it was free and it met expectations.

Our third holiday at Buny Whey and definately our best. This time around, the time of year (May) was just perfect and the weather was really kind to us. This is a wonderful location if you enjoy peaceful surroundings but also want to get out and about. The views from the garden are amazing. Alex and Steve are perfect hosts and we are looking forward to our return. Highly recommended.

The cottage was very clean and had everything (and more) than expected or needed. The location was ideal ie beautifully quiet, stunning views, multiple circular walks on the doorstep but also lots of things to see and do just a few miles away. An added bonus was to be able to sit and watch the horses from the cottage garden! Our hosts had covered all bases and were available if needed. oved this cottage and our holiday there. So peaceful. Our stay was just not long enough to do and see all that we wanted and we would love to return

Nice little bolt hole for a relaxing week with great views.

Very spacious cottage and bigger than expected. Perfect location to explore the Cornish coast. Everyone we came across were friendly and helpful. Absolute fantastic find.

A home away from home; the cottage is so well equipped, and lovely furnishings and decoration. Very comfortable bed, very good bath plus walk-in shower. Great kitchen area with very spacious worktop. Very quiet location (which we love), but just a few miles from Lostwithiel and shops (and there is the farmshop closer). Heating works well (we stayed in Feb), but the woodburning stove is also nice on a cold evening. Lovely holiday!

Your review is such a great read and we are sure very useful to future and prospective guests of Buny Whey. Cosying up to a wood burning stove on a chilly evening is a must! We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Sarah, Customer Support

Buny Whey was the perfect holiday retreat for us and we loved everything about it. Spotlessly clean, the really comfortable bed, walk in shower, relaxing log burner with everything we needed in the kitchen, too. It was a very memorable week, enjoying walking on deserted beaches and then coming back to our gorgeous holiday home. Thank you so much for your care and effort.

Our second time at Buny Whey and again, a lovely time in a warm, comfortable and clean cottage. Alex and Steve are always available should they be needed, but never intrusive. The location is great for walks and getting around the county....already missing the view across the garden of Lanlivery church...some amazing sunrises whilst we were there. Onwards to our return in May next year!!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely and quiet location. we'll thought out and furnished with excellent consideration given for those with young children too.

Great spot for walking with our dog, beautiful scenery and central for many days out, pub just a short walk away very friendly, food good and they welcomed our dog.

Buny Whey is a delight: a perfectly judged combination of rustic features and modern comforts. The cottage is spacious but cosy and warm, and is situated in a lovely, tranquil location adjacent to the Luxulyan Valley. We hope to return in the future!

very pleased with the cottage and all its facilities. it was very clean and had everything we could possibly need. had a bit of a problem with the television but on being informed about this, the cottage owner came round straightaway and sorted this out for us. could not fault it in any way. would recommend this lovely, peaceful place to anyone and another plus is that it is close enough to other tourist attractions and places to see without spending all day travelling.

We loved our stay at Bunny Whey due to the great location, beautiful and well-furnished cottage and play equipment in the garden that our young daughter enjoyed.

Quiet peaceful and beautiful location. Great for access to walk beaches and attractions. Footpath to the village with it’s excellent local pub. Highly recommended.

We loved the peace and space. The garden was perfect for our teenagers and dog. Location with view was superb. Really stunning place to return to after a day out. Great open kitchen and through lounge and whole property beautifully furnished. Having two bathrooms useful for 4 with teenagers. Beds were very comfortable. Great to have a good pub within walking distance. Steve and Alex the owners were very friendly and on hand if needed but kept their distance. They helped provide antibacterial spray when our dog cut his claw. We will definitely be returning.

A nicely presented converted barn with good facilities and in an excellent location for exploring the local area. However, we did have issues during our stay – firstly, the hot water was not working properly on our arrival in the on-suite bathroom. We informed the owner who lived just across the road but he was very unhelpful and not willing to try to resolve the problem until the following day – in the end, we sorted this out ourselves. The second issue was a damp and musty smelling second bedroom – with black mold showing on one wall and the exposed brick gable end wall being very wet to touch. Apparently, this was an issue from an overflowing gutter during our stay.

Reply from Classic Cottages

We're so sorry that you had a problem with the hot water that couldn't be immediately rectified, but were pleased that you were able to resolve this yourselves. We appreciate you letting us know about the bedroom - nothing was evident when our local agent visited shortly before your stay but if the gutter had been overflowing due to the wet weather, this could well have caused a temporary issue. We're so glad you enjoyed exploring the area and hope you had a great stay overall. Tanya, Customer Support

The owner's were wonderful, very welcoming and they left delicious scones, jam and cream. We had a lovely even though the weather was awful. The cottage had everything you needed. We hope to return.

Wonderful location, superb hosts, all within a few miles of the most beautiful Cornish coastline walks.

Wonderful home, warm and comfortable, very well positioned for exploring the Cornish countryside and coastal walks. Owners are friendly and welcoming.

We have enjoyed many holidays in Cornwall over the years, but this was our first stay at Buny Whey. What an excellent location and such a lovely property, so warm and welcoming. Alex and Steve are great hosts, very helpful and friendly but not intrusive at all. Our collie Maeve just loved the garden....so that was it for us...booked for two weeks next June!!!

Owners very helpful but not overly intrusive. One of the best properties of the many we have stayed at over the years.

We had the most amazing holiday, it's rare that the website pictures of the external aspect of the property actually reflects reality! We have often wondered if photos were taken using a crane! Buny Whey was the exception ! The peace and quiet and external space was great for us and our 4 year old, so many places of interest, attractions and beaches close to hand with a pub within walking distance ?? the interior of the property was beautiful and coordinated. Alex and steve have obviously put a lot of thought and care into the property and were both very welcoming and friendly

Lovely warm and comfy cottage. The views are beautiful and it was nice to be able to stroll down to the pub for a meal. Great garden for us to sit in and it was enclosed so nice and secure for the dog. I'd definitely recommend it.

What a treat this little barn cottage is! Just a short drive to every where. The accommodation is very comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. A lovely morning dog walk and the pub is very dog and human friendly and about 10 mins walk away on quiet lanes. The garden view is amazing, the setting is so quiet. It was nice to have a dog proof garden so we could really relax. The local farm shop is a gem. Crafts and 'smellies' as well as food. Ideal for we ladies to have a wee shop! Lanhydrock (a NT property) is close by and despite not being a stately home person I found this house very interesting (can't take dogs into the house but there is a large courtyard next to it and we took turns going in). We walked and walked - this is an ideal walkers base.

We had a lovely 3 night mini-break at Buny Whey. The location is beautiful - peaceful, private and perfectly situated for us visiting our daughter and family in Lostwithiel.

Unique layout of the cottage. The right place to relax and enjoy Corniche landscape and lifestyle. Lovely places to visit.

A lovely cottage in a great location, with very friendly owners.

over the years we have stayed in many cottages but this was the best we have stayed at. highly recommended

The fact that we have used Buny Whey 4 times says much ,does it not?

Great place to stay, will definitely be returning again soon.......the owners Stephen & Alex brilliant and very helpful.

Loved the views which overlooked Landlivery village & church. Ideal setting to relax and unwind! Recommend the Crown Inn for food and beverages plus a visit to the village pop-up shop opposite the Church which has a great selection of produce and gifts. Everything supplied from local small holdings and run by volunteers from the area.

Absolutely brilliant holiday, our dog loved the enclosed garden and chasing her ball!

Finally to add that we would be quite happy to live there.

Kind Regards John & Tracy Moore

This cottage is in a wonderful, peaceful location with easy access to the local pub.

This was our 2nd visit to Buny Whey and we enjoyed it just as much as the 1st time. The cottage is immaculate and there is nothing more you could want while there. Our dog loves the big enclosed garden and there is lots of walks to do and local dog friendly beaches.

Beautiful, spacious cottage in a quiet part of Cornwall, yet within easy reach of the coast. Large secure garden ideal for children and dogs.

It was our second stay at Buny Whey and we had such an amazing time again, that we are looking to visit again in 2018. The property and setting are wonderful, we have two small girls who love playing in the garden while we sit and enjoy the stunning views. The property is so well located to visit parts of North and South Cornwall and there are some wonderful nearby coves, walks and family friendly beaches...... we cannot wait to return.

Lovely property with a great garden especially for our kids and dog. The kitchen, diner, lounge felt very spacious. Buny Whey is located very conveniently for many beaches, National Trusts and local tourist hotspots. The cream tea on arrival was much appreciated and the owner were friendly, offering welcome advice as to local and relevant activities.

Wonderful cottage in a lovely location with beautiful views

Buny Whey is a lovely converted barn in a great village location with fab views. It is very well appointed inside and the owners are incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful.

We had a really lovely welcome from the owners, who were on hand to answer any questions if need be but were not at all intrusive. We especially loved the spacious and well equipped kitchen, and hearing the owls at night!

Bunt whey is by far the best place we have stayed in Cornwall, everything is perfect here....location, people, cottage! The cottage is spotless and very up to date but still within keeping of the original building. Will defiantly be back next year that's for sure!

Our dog loved the garden and we enjoyed the lovely views, the cream tea that was left for us on arrival was delicious

Buny Whey is in a rural and lovely location with views accross the fields to the local village. The large garden is easily accessed and ideal for children to play and adults to relax or join in! The double bed is an exceptionally comfortable king size and the accomodation is very attractive and welcoming. The Owners are around if needed and very friendly.

A very well equipped and comfortable holiday home. Ideal for those holidaying with a dog - probably the most stress free we have ever stayed in. Lovely local pub within walking distance. Scenic walks from the door and many more from driving a short distance.

Fabulous cottage, great location for exploring a the wider area. Cottage was well equipped, clean And beautifully presented. Our girls loved the garden and play equipment. Already looking forward to a return visit as so much to explore nearby and is a wonderful base to return to and relax.

Great for a family with small children, all on one level, enclosed garden, play equipment. Close to lots of attractions and fabulous beaches. Owners were really helpful and friendly.

Buny Whey is a lovely converted barn that is excellent for adults and young children alike. The secure garden, great play equipment and range of animals nearby kept our 3 year old entertained for hours. For adults it provides peace and quiet with easy access to lovely coastline and walks.

We have just enjoyed our second visit to wonderful Buny Whey. It is a super cottage in a great location. It is particularly good for dog owners because the garden is properly enclosed.

A very well equipped cottage with good outdoor space. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The open plan living area meant that it was light and airy even though the weather was gloomy. The wood burner was very welcome as well. We would recommend this cottage.

Buny Whey was all that we had hoped for. Quiet, lovely view, very comfortable and dogs are allowed, Home from home ! The coast is easily accessible and to come back to a warm environment , in January, was bliss. The wood burner was the icing on the cake. We will be back !

Buny Whey is a perfect hideaway in a friendly village with a good pub in walking distance from the cottage. The owners are lovely - very helpful and caring and we are looking forward to our third trip back already!

A beautiful stable conversion with a real home from home feel. A wonderful home made cream tea welcome and stunning views across the local land. The owners livestock were lovely to look over and even though the weather on our stay wasn't perfect this beautiful cottage made it all worth while! I would recommend this to a couple looking for a quiet getaway or a family looking for a comfortable stay with all the attractions not to far away!

Fantastic stay in a lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and cosy on the cooler autumn nights. Our dog was particularly impressed with the huge enclosed garden

anybody that books this cottage will love it especially the cream tea and the comfort of the bed and overall the living space

A beautiful, well presented cottage that was a pleasure to stay in.

We really enjoyed our stay at Buny Whey - it's really family-friendly with lots of room for a toddler to run around, inside and out. Fantastic location - there's loads of things to do really close by. We'd definitely think about returning in the future!

Very nice house with a large garden. We have felt very comfortable here and enjoyed the stay very much. Thank you so much!

Very peaceful

Fantastic views, Lovely, comfortable cottage, we will definately come back.

Buny Whey is a beautifully-appointed, sensitively-converted cottage in a peaceful rural setting. It's an excellent base for touring Cornwall and is particularly convenient for visits to the Eden Project, Padstow and Newquay, Fowey and Mevagissey. We had an excellent holiday.

A lovely location and good standard accommodation.

Buny Whey is a gorgeous, extremely well equipped property which was ideal for our holiday with our pet greyhound.
