Take a scenic trip on the North Somerset Steam Railway. Pass through idyllic countryside and quaint villages, perhaps stopping for a cup of tea and a slice of cake by the sea.
Montacute House is nearby.
Head into the Quantocks for wonderful scenic walks and a possible sighting of some Red Deer.

Great cottage, very well equipped. Comfortable, cosy and warm. It's in a lovely location, lots of NT properties nearby, Barrington Court 5 minute drive. Great pub up the road, great food and lovely atmosphere, great customer service its the Lamb and Lion at Hambridge, we ate there 3 times in our week's stay. Would stay in this cottage again....

A nice property in a beautiful village. Barrington Court nearby and lots of National Trust properties to visit. Walking distance to a very nice pub. Lyme Regis and Frome all within an hour's drive. The shower can be improved and summer house emptied of furniture so guests can use it. Parking a little tight but manageable. ...

The location was excellent, in the heart of a beautiful village and with Barrington Court within walking distance. Plenty of other houses and gardens to visit nearby and easy to drive to Ilminster for shops. Overall the cottage was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the living room spacious, but we found the bedrooms on the ground floor a bit cold. ...

The cottage was very well-located in a beautiful, tranquil village. Flax Barn is very well-equipped and spacious, clean and with lovely furnishings. The bedrooms are downstairs which is excellent in the summer, as they are much cooler and bedding was very comfortable.
