Good base for exploring the local areas
Enjoyed the scones on arrival
Mr Cranstone August 2019
Nice touch was the owner popped in the next day after our arrival to make sure we were settled in and everything was ok.
Frau Karrasch August 2019
We‘d like to spend our holidays at Tredinnick farm next year again, it‘s a very beautiful cottage!
Mr Barrett July 2019
The cottage was pretty much perfect for two. It is cosy but doesn't feel cramped. Best of all was the garden which was genuinely enclosed and essential for our small dog who will chase anything given half a chance. This was very a very important factor for us. The location was great too - you could walk to the Plough pub (which was great, despite some negative reviews we'd read) and Liskeard and Looe were easily accessible for shopping and the coast respectively. Great walks nearby and not so far to the north coast for some of the best beaches.
Mrs Boyle July 2019
Had another great week at Butterwell cottage. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a lovely break. It is also in a great location close to Looe and dog friendly beaches. It is perfect for a couple with a dog (it has an enclosed garden).
Mrs Roberts May 2019
If you are looking for a bright, comfortable cosy cottage with a long and secure garden, should you be taking a four legged friend along, with views and sounds of the countryside in abundance and yet within easy and quick access to Looe then give this one serious consideration. You'll find a pub and a community shop within a mile of the cottage and footpath and country lane walks accessible from the farm. There are so many places to visit, both along the coast and inland that you'll find yourself spoilt for choice. Oh, and when you arrive and open the front door you are greeted by a cream tea. What a lovely way to start your holiday!
Mrs Hoskins February 2019
We had a lovely peaceful and relaxing holiday in this beautiful cosy and well equipped cottage. It has everything you needed also had a lovely welcome with flowers and scones when we arrived. Was very sad to leave such a beautiful peaceful place. We would highly recommend Butterwell Cottage
Miss Beaugeard October 2018
We loved our stay at Butterwell Cottage. The owners who live in the village were very friendly, helpful and discreet. We particularly appreciated all the tourist information available at the cottage (Cornwall guides, several walking guides, etc.). Though situated at the end of the farm house, the cottage is totally independent and has its own entrance and private garden. Wifi was excellent and there was good mobile reception too. There was a lovely restaurant in the village, and there were several pubs in Looe just a few minutes away by car.
Mrs Sorenson October 2018
Lovely cosy place to stay away from it all.
Mrs Clark September 2018
We loved our stay at Butterwell Cottage. Such a peaceful place. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want. The sitting area was comfortable and the bed was really comfortable. This is a lovely cottage perfect for 2 people. Great enclosed garden for the dog. Loved seeing the cows looking over the wall. Would be nice to have some details about walks from the cottage to take the dog on as really didn’t know where the footpaths would take me. We will visit again.
Mrs Willard August 2018
A very in depth and helpful information book provided with places to visit, beautiful coastal walks and dog friendly beaches. Cottage was in a Fantastic location and lovely accommodation. Welcome pack with cream tea very much appreciated. Owner very helpful and pleasant.
Mr Pallett May 2018
The cottage exceeded our expectations in every respect. Angela made us feel very welcome. This cottage is perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful break but with easy access to the coast and all its amenities.
Mrs Nagi April 2018
A very cosy, peaceful cottage - ideal for a short break and convenient for visiting the coast and most attractions in East Cornwall - with its own garden which would be great in summer, and if you have a dog. (We stayed in April, while it was still cool, wet and windy!)
Mrs Gheissari March 2018
Lovely cottage which was the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area. It's rare to find a cottage with such a generous garden that is truly dog-proof. Inside, every detail had been thought of, from a well-equipped kitchen to fresh scones on arrival . The owners had also left basics like tea bags, milk, butter, oil etc. which we were grateful for. We're an active couple with a dog and enjoyed the walk through the farm from the doorstep and the South West Coast Path too.
Mrs Button November 2017
We first came to this cottage in 2012 and have returned yearly since. We love Cornwall and why look for any other location when we are always so happy here. Owners are very friendly and helpful. It is great waking up to all the sights and sounds of the farm and surrounding countryside. The cottage is comfortable and cosy, great to come back to after a day out. Also love the fact we can bring our small dog.
Mr Kennett September 2017
This is a superbly equipped comfortable and cosy cottage Everything had been thought of down to the last detail. An extremely positive holiday experience, right from original booking to our reluctant departure at the end of our stay Angela had thought of everything even down to a sewing kit ,and the welcome pack of scones jam and cream with a bottle of Cornish apple juice ,milk in the fridge and beautiful roses was a really lively gesture This cottage is a little gem and I would happily return any time and would thoroughly recommend it to friends and family Once again Faultless!!
Mr Reed August 2017
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again, or recommend to others, we have had many holidays in Cornwall and stayed in quite different accommodations, this one rates with very best !!
Mrs Boyle July 2017
A lovely little cottage, very clean and well equipped in a great location not far from Looe. Perfect for my husband and our dog. We had a really good holiday.
Mr Tilley June 2017
Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden when we could see him peering through the long grass! Shame the owner only came to cut it on the last afternoon of our stay encroaching on our privacy (too little too late). Wifi was advertised! This was no existent. When we asked the owner about the problem she replied " what do you expect we're in the middle of the countryside" We asked her to contact her provider BT. She replied " They won't do anything for two or three days" so nothing was done to rectify the problem. Please note We booked this cottage as it advertised wifi. As I require wifi for my work, this impacted not only on my work but for my income! The cottage was plagued by flies all week and despite spraying the entire inside twice daily did nothing to rectify the problem. This alone spoilt our stay here!

Cream tea on arrival, flowers, juice and milk to get us started was so unexpected but so lovely, even the pheasants in the garden everyday was magical, i could go on forever .. we just loved it

Mrs Ross March 2015
A lovely cottage in a nice location. We spent 3 very nice days there. Comfortable, quiet and private, the property exceeded our expectations by far. It's very well maintained and has got all the various bits and pieces that you may not expect but that add a nice touch to your stay and allow a cosy night in if you have no evening plans - extra cushions and blankets, board games, DVD player and full kitchen equipment. There is a very nice pub in a nearby village, a pleasant walk away and we found the location very convenient for further ventures into Cornwall.

Without any question at all, we would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing break for a couple with or without a dog, its got eveything you need, the walks, the places to see and the comfort of the cottage. And if you travel far to get there, the welcome gift that the owner puts out for you is in its self, just what the doctor ordered.
Mr Annals September 2013
We had a lovely warm welcome with the lady of the house and there were flowers, cake, applejuice as well as milk in the fridge for us to get started. Perfect location for long walks and sightseeing it`s also well worth visiting is the Cider Shop down the road towards Looe.
Mrs White August 2013
Butterwell Cottage is the best self catering holiday accomodation that we have ever stayed in. The setting was second to none and the cottage was exceptionally clean and so obviously well maintained. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog, helping to make it a relaxing holiday knowing that he could be let out safely. The homemade cake & local apple juice on arrival was absolutely lovely and very welcoming after a long journey. We loved feeding the goats everyday and all in all it was the most relaxing holiday that we have ever had. Thank you so much. Paul & Sharon White
