Great location, quiet area. Good for vsiting other towns and tourist hot spots. You will need for nothing-The Stables has everything you could possibly need.

cottage was handy for many places of interest, we did not have to travel very far from the cottage. The garden was very nice to relax in after a day out and about. The owners were very friendly and easy to talk to, but did not intrude. We would stay here again if visiting this area and would recommend it to a couple looking for a nice place for a holiday. Mike & Christine Bowden.

Clean, comfortable and well equipped, ideal for a couple to spend a few days. Lovely countryside & on a fairly quiet road. I would recommend this property to friends & family.

The Stables is excellent spacious accommodation in an idyllic, but convenient, location. The owners (John and Jane are most welcoming. We have stayed there 4 times and intend to return.

Great cottage, lovely private garden and excellent location.

Spent a lovely week in the cottage. It was extremely well presented, clean, cosy and comfortable with a beautiful garden which was ideal for morning coffee, afternoon tea and a quiet drink in the evening.

We loved staying at this beautiful cottage. It is very clean and comfortable, with lots of space and everything we needed for self catering, though we usually chose to go out for our evening meal. The cottage is very peaceful, and is situated in pretty countryside, with plenty of room to park the car beside the cottage. The owners live on the same site nearby. We enjoyed watching the birds in the garden and listening to their morning chorus. The area is very much part of Thomas Hardy's Wessex, and is remarkably unspoilt, "Far From The Madding Crowd" and "Under The Greenwood Tree". We enjoyed exploring "Weatherbury" (Puddletown) and Mellstock (Stinsford and Bockhampton), etc. Hardy's cottage (National Trust) is only a few miles away. "Sculpture By The Lakes" is wonderful and is only about 300 yds away. There are lots of other interesting places to visit, with nice walks in the area both in the nearby woods and a bit further away on the coast and in the Isle of Purbeck area. Athelhampton House, the Swanage Steam Railway, Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Clouds Hill Cottage (NT), Moreton Church and Tearooms, Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens, etc all made interesting trips. We would love to return, as there is so much more to enjoy here.

Wonderful cottage in a peaceful location. Ideally placed for walks in the surrounding area and not too far from the beautiful Dorset coast.

This property is ideal for 2 people well laid out and in a very good location for visiting Dorset

A quiet, spacious, well-appointed, clean and warm cottage with friendly owners next door. Only 15 minutes drive from the south coast and an excellent base for walking the coast path. Several National Trust properties within easy reach.

Definitely 5 star

Really peaceful location. Great cottage, comfortable bed, well-equipped, couldn’t fault it. Thankyou.

It was so peaceful here and the weather so clement as to make this a really fantastic break away from the stress and bustle of our everyday lives. This is an immaculate property in a perfect, private location with every convenience we could have needed, even excellent recycling facilities. Arriving to find little extras, such as the tea, milk and biscuits (and even the handwash and dishwasher tablets), was a really thoughtful gesture and truly helpful. Our hosts, Jane and John, were very welcoming but not obtrusive, which was relieving as we are a naturally quite shy couple and like our privacy, but it was nice to know they were immediately on hand if we needed their help (they live in the adjacent property).

At middle-age, for us a comfortable bed is a prerequisite, and the double bed was just what we needed for a cosy, good night’s sleep, along with the peaceful surroundings away in a pleasant area of the countryside. The property is bigger than we expected and the west-facing gardens were spacious and well-tended, ideal for sitting outside on summer evenings, enjoying the sunset and watching the bats flying over the garden and adjoining fields.

Staying at this property gave us easy access to all main routes in Dorset, with most attractions close at hand, such as Corfe Castle, Studland Bay, Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove, Cerne Abbas, Montacute House, to mention just a few places of interest that we visited. Even Lyme Regis, where we spent a full day, was not out of range.

The only cloud was our own fault when we accidentally spilt a full mug of tea on one of the carpets. We were absolutely mortified and worried as to our reception when we reported it. We needn’t have worried, as John and Jane were really kind and Jane quickly cleaned the carpet with good humour and without reproach. We highly recommend this property to all, and although we generally visit a different area of the country each holiday, in this instance, we hope we will have opportunity to return again. Thank you, Jane and John for such a great holiday!

Lovely comfortable cottage in peaceful surroundings , pretty garden , well eqipped kitchen . Good shower , comfortable bed , good quality towels provided , well eqipped kitchen with good quality utensils . Lovely garden to relax in . Lots of places to visit within easy reach and cottage is in lovely peaceful area , lovely countryside surroundings .

A very comfortable and spacious cottage in a delightfully peaceful location. The owners couldn’t do enough to please.

The sign outside is so small it’s so easy to miss when your driving, the owner was repairing something when we arrived and apart from that never see them all week.It is a lovely property that was converted many years ago and is now quite old fashioned and needs updating

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and we're glad that you felt The Stables was a lovely property - it's certainly very popular with our guests and offers a fantastic base for holidays in this area. The owners do live next door so are always on hand to help or answer questions, yet strike the perfect balance so as not to intrude; guests can just pop by for top tips on planning a day out or to get local insider information on secret spots to visit! We'd have to disagree that the cottage is old fashioned - the furniture and decor is all very high quality and beautifully presented in a style that sits well with the property's origins and surroundings, and the owners ensure the standard is very high throughout. This is a superb cottage: superb location, superbly equipped and comfortable with the best information concerning where to eat, visit and see in the area that I have ever seen!

A very spacious and comfortable cottage which was ideally placed for exploring the area. We have stayed in a lot of properties from the Classic Cottages portfolio and the Stables must rank among the very best.

Perfect, rural holiday cottage.

A real gem very comfortable.

An excellent homely property in beautiful surroundings. Ideal for visiting properties inland, and on the breathtaking coastline.

The Stables is in a lovely part of Dorset very quiet but also very well equipped with a nice warm welcome from the owners.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Fantastic cottage.very well equipped, spotless, and very friendly owners. Like we said in our comments book in the cottage we would be going back next year, but our holidays for next year have already been booked, but will be returning the year after. Cannot speak highly enough of this cottage.Already recommended to several people.

One of the cleanest and best equipped properties we have stayed at to date, and we have stayed at several. The owners were most friendly and helpful.

1st Class cottage, well presented with good quality furnishings and fittings.it was exceptionally clean. John and Jane were pleased to answer queries and provided lots of tourist and cottage information .the cottage was as advertised, quiet and central for all our sightseeing Would not hesitate to recommend The Stables.

A perfect holiday cottage.

Outstanding in every way. The owners have gone the extra mile to ensure the cottage is well equipped and comfortable.

We have stayed at many self catering holiday accomodations and this (The Stable) was the best ever! Excellent in every way.

An excellent cottage in a convenient position highly recommended .

The property exceeded our expectations. It was well equipped and maintained to an excellent standard. The garden was lovely and we were able to sit out in the evening and fully enjoy and appreciate the surroundings. The owners were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay and we have every intention of returning back again.

John and Jane are kind, thoughtful hosts. They go to a lot of trouble to ensure that their guests enjoy their stay. Little touches - tempting shortbread biscuits, a pint of milk and fresh flowers were waiting for us on arrival. The cottage is spacious and well-appointed; the extensive gardens are ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Some of Dorset's most famous attractions are close at hand and the beaches are within easy reach. We would wholeheartedly and confidently recommend The Stables to anyone seeking a peaceful, quiet break.

Great tranquil location, gorgeous cottage set in beautifully kept private gardens, romantic, cosy and well maintained. The owners are great hosts, with milk, biscuits and a welcome card awaiting our arrival. Wonderful local natural attractions, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. Just what the doctor ordered! Will definately visit again and again...

It is warm and comfortable and has all the modern facilities that you could want.

Super cottage, lovely area and will probably book again in the future.

John and Jane made us very welcome and were at pains to ensure we had everything we needed in the cottage. Lovely clean and fresh decor throughout the property, super bed and dishwasher a bonus. Cottage in good location in countryside but central to many tourist attractions. Peaceful and private garden in which to relax.

A great cottage in a peaceful location that is great for touring Dorset. Very clean and comfortable with freindly and helpful hosts, We will be making a return visit!

A gem of a cottage, perfect for couples wanting a peaceful time in a lovely area.

The Cottage is very cosy and we had a relaxing holiday. Many interesting places and beaches are nearby. An excellent place to stay.

The size of the property was fantastic, more than enough for the two of us but still with a cosy feel.

Very well equipped and comfortable cottage. Large and private garden. Owners are nearby and very helpful. A good location for many nearby attractions, countryside and coast.

A very comfortable, pretty and well equipped cottage in a really good location for exploring Dorset. One bedroom, sitting room and kitchen (kitchen much bigger than expected) plus bathroom and small lobby. All on one level, but a couple of steps in the kitchen. Quiet country location, cottage gardens an added benefit.

Lovely location, peaceful yet within easy reach of several villages or small towns. Would recommend "sculpture by the lakes" which is within walking distance.
