Mrs Boothroyd September 2020
A very well-equipped and comfortable hideaway, with a spacious living area and efficient heating. Provided you have a car you are within reach of some of Cornwall's most spectacular coastline and interesting towns.
Mrs McArthur September 2020
Feantastic stay. Felicity was a great host and gave us lots of helpful pointers on where to go / visit. We had our 8 month daughter with us - the space worked perfectly. The barn is a perfect base for exploring this area or Cornwall.
Mrs Hudson September 2019
You mention there is a pub within walking distance of cottage and I assume you mean the New Inn which is no longer trading. The nearest is The Star at Porkellis which is very good and welcoming.

Thank you for your comments and for letting us know about the New Inn which is a real shame. It's great to hear that you found the Star Inn at Porkellis and we'll certainly add that to our details - we'd also recommend Wheal Dream just on the way back towards Helston (they do a brilliant carvery!). Great location and a beautiful cottage with all mod cons. The house sitters were wonderful and made our stay so welcoming. Stunning views and the most comfortable beds! Thank you!
Mrs Aflenzer May 2017
The cottage was more than we expected and it felt like home the moment we stepped into the cottage. It was very clean. The kitchen was more than fully equipped. Could have cooked a three course meal if we wanted to. Felicity was very welcoming and thought of everything one might need to spend a lovely time at the cottage. She even had extensive information regarding things to do in and around the area (maps, travel guides, etc.)
Mrs Tilling October 2016

Mrs Grover August 2016

Mr Coldwell July 2016
A lovely modern cottage with a quirky upside down layout and and interesting glass floor panel. Helston is a great location for seeing the west of Cornwall. Cottage handily placed near town but far enough away to be quiet and experience great views of the countryside. Felicity was a great host she was there if needed and we loved watching her cats roam the countryside
Mrs Pauley July 2016
Ideal location, very comfortable and highly recommended. We are repeat visitors and will continue to be so.
Mrs Kershaw June 2016
The Lower Manhay Barn was peaceful, relaxing with lovely accommodation. In an ideal location to visit so many places in Cornwall, ie. The Lizard, Helford River, Porthleven, St Michaels Mount and many, many more. Would not hesitate to book again and recommend.
Mrs Trice May 2016
We had a fabulous stay at Higher Manhay Barn, the barn was well set up for us, a family of 4 with two 6 year old boys and is in a fabulous location to explore all Cornwall has to offer. The owner, Felicity, was there to greet us when we arrived and talked us through details of the cottage. The bottle of wine, teabags, biscuits and milk that had been left for us upon arrival were just the start to our holiday we needed after our long journey! A great touch. We loved it here and hope to be able to return next year to explore parts of Cornwall we didn't get to see this time around!
Mrs Newsome March 2016
Lovely welcoming cottage, warm, well equipped and very well looked after. In a good position for visiting many parts of Cornwall.

Lovely comfortable barn in a great location, very quiet and remote - great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. All of far Western Cornwall within easy reach.

Cottage was well presented, equipped and scrupulously clean. Owner Peter achieved the right balance between being friendly/helpful and discrete despite close proximity. Situation of cottage outstanding. Really an excellent base from which to explore this area of Cornwall.

Mrs Whiting March 2015
The cottage exceeded our expectations. Peter the owner was very friendly and welcoming. We were left a bottle of wine to greet us plus milk and tea on arrival. Comprehensive information pack and booklets about surrounding area were helpful in planning our days out. A huge basket of logs and kindling to keep the log burner going all week was also included as well as fresh flowers. We were sorry to leave.
