Lovely cottage. Very homely feel. Everything you could ask for and more. Hamper provided was a wonderful touch. How refreshing to find milk in the fridge too, perfect after a long journey. Not far from any of the attractions, generally within a 20 minute to half hour drive. Even old Harry's rocks are only 50 miles away. Thought of everything. There was even a supply of items should you run out. Village hall car park very reasonable only 50p per day. Directions were perfect we arrived at 11pm. Pitch dark but found the property straight away and the car parking area.

Third visit which speaks for itself

July 2017

We were happy with the way cottage had been described. It lived up to its description . We would book it again. We would also use Classic Cottages again when booking a holiday.

July 2017

Very comfortable cottage in a beautiful small village. Everything thought of by our hosts to make it a tranquil and peaceful break.

June 2017

Clean and comfortable, and felt spacious. Parking in the garage is a little tight but manageable. Next to village hall and not far from the church whose bells ring the quarter hour (which we liked)

October 2016

Briar Cottage is very clean, well equipped, comfortable and cosy in a picturesque village. The welcome hamper was a nice touch. We would love to go back.

September 2016

Briar Cottage was a real home from home. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated and furnished. We chose Briar Cottage for a weekend break with our elderly parents. We were all able to relax an enjoy the cottage and its beautiful village surroundings.

September 2015

So peaceful and quiet....loved relaxing in the sun room.

Loved the walks from the cottage.

July 2015

We had an excellent two week stay in Briar Cottage, July 2015. It is a very spacious and well equipped property, with a garage and small car parking space just outside the back garden (making it easy to unload shopping etc.). When we had visitors arriving they parked in the village hall car park which is just behind the garages out back. The housekeeper provided a very nice welcome gift, as well as some strawberries and cream mid-way through the stay, which was very unexpected...and nice. We didn't need her help with any problems (because we didn't have any) but we got the impression that she would have been extremely helpful if we did. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable as was the lounge. The kitchen was well equipped, and once you know where stuff is, was a joy to cook in. The pub in Newtown (about 15-20mins walk) was very nice, with simple 'no-frills' meals. I can recommend this cottage whole heartedly and would rent this again if we are going back to the area.

May 2015

Never have I stayed in such a beautiful, comfortable and spotless cottage. We woke up to birdsong and enjoyed the honeysuckle in the gloaming. If I had my way, I would never have left.

September 2014

Very well equipped, superb location. Was very impressed.

September 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Briar Cottage which is very comfortable and well appointed. Easy access to many local places of interest.

The cottage was just ideal, and would recommend to friends and family. WHEN WE RETURN TO THE UK WE WILL BOOK THE COTTAGE AGAIN.

August 2013

Very nice cottage in a beautiful surrounding. Absolutely quiete and very good for recreation. Since there are no shops around you have to travel 6 miles for shopping, which was no problem for us. I can fully recommend the cottage as well as Classic Cottage for the booking.

July 2013

I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful and spotlessly clean cottage! It has all you could ask for and lots more. The decor is modern and beautiful. It is near the lovely West Bay beach. The housekeeper could not do enough for us! Bread, cake, wine and milk provided on arrival and lots of basic items provided too! Extra parking is available at the village hall (behind the house) was very convenient for us! Light sleepers may be disturbed by chiming church bells and lack of wifi may worry some people (but could be a blessing to others!). We had a lovely stay and could not fault the property or the housekeeper in any way!

We can highly recommend Briar's Cottage as a starting point to explore Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. The cottage met all our familiy's expectations.

June 2013

This is a very comfortable ,well designed and superbly equipped cottage. Needs to be considered as a base for a holiday as the village is mainly made up of second homes and holiday cottages., There is no shop or pub.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed in this cottage, with the few exceptions stated in our Review Guidelines.
