Cosy, cute, idyllic. Literally like in a movie! Very quiet location, and the whole setting infuses the guests with calm and relaxation.
mrs Jones September 2021
excellant location for two people. coastal walks and beaches. you may even see seals in the carbis bay. but remember to use suitcases with wheels!!!!
Mrs Pallett September 2021
Although mention in the description the route from car parking space was not clear enough. The path leading to the cottage was very overgrown with nettles and fallen leaves which was dangerous when wet. The stair case was unsafe too with a half step outside the bathroom door! We are fit and well but found it spoilt the holiday and would not return again!

Thanks for letting us know that the footpath leading from the parking was a little overgrown; we're sorry for any inconvenience. The cottage has the traditional cottage stairs and there is a step down to the shower-room as mentioned which we do draw attention to. Classic Cottages

If your looking for quintessential, Cornish cottage escape ... give tin tin a try
Mrs Cundy April 2021
We had a wonderful week in Tintin and enjoyed the welcome pack of a cream tea plus fresh flowers. It is a perfect location in a quiet secluded spot. We were extremely lucky with the weather and enjoyed some beautiful coastal walks with breathtaking scenery. All in all one of the best cottages we have stayed in.
Mrs Carden April 2021
Had a lovely week at Tintin Cottage. The location is super, close to Carbis Bay, coastal path to St Ives and local supermarket. Despite being so well located, it is incredibly peaceful as on a traffic free lane. It is a steep path up to the cottage but it keeps you fit! One of our favourite bits was being able to hear the nearby stream from the bedroom window along with birdsong in the mornings. Another was the choice of 2 sheltered, private outdoor seating areas, one got the sun for alfresco breakfast and the other for afternoon tea and cake after a good days walking.
Mr Passey October 2020
Very nice little cottage, perfect for two people. We enjoyed the fireplace very much, it is very cosy. The bed is comfortable and it is very quiet place.
The location is good, far from those tourist place, yet just down the road and walk for few minutes, you arrive Carbis Bay. or about 20 minutes walk to St.Ives. The bus stop is just up the road, very convenience.
The check-in and out is very smooth and very clear instruction. Thank you for the scones and we had a very enjoyable stay!

Wonderful location and a lovely little cottage. Short walk down to a lovely beach and an easy walk to st ives along the coast path. We would definitely stay there again
Mrs Alla October 2017
The cottage is pretty, atmospheric, comfortable, warm, well equipped, not far from the beach or buses and trains, and next to a leafy brook - for us, the perfect place for time away, in other words. Also, access from the main road down a short sharp hill makes it serenely motor traffic-free - one of the best things about it.
Mrs Stadeler August 2017

Mrs Bolton May 2017

Mr Lester August 2016
A lovely cottage in a good location. Close to the sea and within walking distance to St. Ives (The Lifeboat restaurant is crowded but the food was good) Everything we needed was provided. Really peaceful
Mrs Feuerlein July 2016
Tintin-Cottage: Even on the peak of summer-holydays we found us comfortably isolated from the overcrowded areas of St. Ives and Carbisbay. We fell immediately in love with this tiny paradise surrounded by a untouched nature filled with the fragrance of wild flowers, the fresh air of a charming valley with old trees and the poetic murmur of the poetic brook. The traditional house built of local stones offered all the comfort you need to feel immediately at home on this charming hidden place - unbelievable that it’s only 10 minutes on foot from the wonderful beach of Carbisbay. We can highly recommend this exceptional place for body and soul - above all when you like the dance of a butterfly, the call of wren, the buzz of the bees….. Miriam and Rudolf
Mrs Rawden June 2016
This was our second visit to Tintin. Tintin is a cottage we would gladly return to again and again. Quaint, comfortable and in a superb location.

Miss Harris May 2016
Beautiful, homely cottage in an excellent location. All your needs are well provided for in this cottage and the cream tea on arrival is such a lovely touch. We had a fantastic time and didn't want to leave! It felt like our little home rather than a rented cottage. Much better than a hotel!
Mr Oliver April 2016
A really cosy holiday home, ideal for those wanting to walk off road into St Ives along a fabulous piece of coastline without reliance on the car.
Mrs Garment March 2016
We loved our stay at Tintin. Great location - secluded yet close enough to get into St Ives by walking or very short train journey. The steep climb may put off some people but we didn't mind it at all. We hope to be back again soon.
Mr Walker March 2016
Tintin cottage is a lovely cosy and comfortable holiday home in a great position close to the coast and brilliant walking.
Mrs Woodgate February 2016
"Perfect location, pretty cottage with beautiful walks either side, located next to the coastal path and local amenities"
Mrs Rawden June 2015
We absolutely loved our stay at Tintin Cottage. The two decking areas are private and get the morning sun through to late afternoon. Also excellent location for the beach and the coastal path. We can't wait to return.
Mr Towers May 2015
Very good location, quiet and within walking distance of St Ives or train from Carbis Bay. Great walks on the SW Coastal path accessible from the house.
Mr Green April 2015
A perfect cozy cottage for two, with a very secluded feel despite being in town (the only sound you can hear is from a small stream and birdsong). It's very easy to walk (or get the train) into St Ives, and explore western Cornwall. Highly recommended.
Mr King October 2014
Potential clients need to be advised of the narrow lanes leading upto the property, which are quite steep and narrow. Mobile phone reception is not good, it's advisable to get to property before office closes before 6pm.
My wife and I found the owners of cottage very pleasant and they answered any questions we had, even provided us a bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon. Nice touch, I would definitely stay at this cottage again.

We're delighted that you enjoyed your honeymoon in Tintin Cottage. The cottage is approached by a steep pedestrian lane as you say (this is covered in the description). Our office is open until 8pm during the week (including the arrival day, Friday), from 9am-5pm on Saturday and from 11am-4pm on Sunday (you can always call the Housekeeper during your stay outside of those hours). Mrs Blockley April 2014
Tintin cottage was a perfect getaway for a relaxing break. It was very peaceful whilst being within easy access of amenities and lots of lovely restaurants and beaches. We enjoyed the hill walk up to the cottage (although this might not be for everyone) and we look forward to going back soon!
Mr Manson April 2014
A perfect base for exploring this area of Cornwall. The walk to St Ives is easy and so much better to be there without a car.
Mr Selby March 2014
Unique location, with handy rail link to St Ives and around the coast. Good to leave the car parked and walk or catch the train to get around. Fantastic beaches, and Carbis hotel good for a coffee or slap up tea with fabulous views.
Mr Pigott August 2013
Cosy cottage in a beautiful location, we loved staying here!
Mrs Richards July 2013
The location of Tintin cottage is lovely, BUT you do need a reasonable level of fitness, not just to access the terraced areas of the property, but dragging suitcases from the car parking area, up and down the steep paths is not easy, and every walk down (to the beach or coast path) means a considerable climb back. To avoid the really tough chore of taking the wheelie bin to the top of the very steep path on Thursday night, my advice would be to bag up your rubbish on a daily basis and deposit it in the public bins available everywhere.
Mr Kolbe June 2013
Nice little cottage, really worth its price. Quiet location. Friendly and personal reception with flowers and a cream tea.
Miss Kurtoglu May 2013
Walking is very good experince around. Please take long walks and discover nice beaches. The location of the cottage is perfect. Into the nature and close to public transportation, supermarket and lovel carbis bay beach is just 5 min walk.
Mrs Keywood May 2013
It's a really sweet, cosy cottage and has a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere
Miss McVey March 2013
This cottage definately lived up to our expectations. The location is perfect (if walking hills is for you). Straight down to the beech and onto the south west coastal path. Definately coming back at some point. Thanks for an perfect weekend
Mr Clark February 2013
This cottage is ideal for a short break. Handy for Carbis Bay station (a steep walk mind, so not suitable for all people), the Cornish coastal path is nearby and of course St Ives is easily reached by foot, train or bus. Carbis Bay has a lovely beach. The cottage is certainly suited for people who enjoy walking.
